Why do you still gain the gromp/krug buffs if an enemy kills them?

If I use smite on gromp or krugs, and then an enemy invades and kills that monster, I still get the buff (even though I didn't kill it). IMO this kind of defeats the purpose of invading, since all they have to do is smite the monster and they still get the buff. Is this intended, or is this a bug? I feel like you should have to kill the monster yourself in order to get the buff. That's the way it works for the other buffs, so shouldn't it work the same with the new buffs as well?

You get the buff right when you smite, not when the creature dies. This is for various reasons like in the case of the Krugs/Gromps it helps you clear them faster so you dont take too much damage for when you take Red/Blue. Then there is Red/Blue (specifically Red since its more useful) you get health for smiting Red and mana for smiting Blue to help you clear it since they hit hard.

If you didnt get the buff from smiting, counter-jungling would shut a jungler down for the rest of the game since you could just steal all their camps and they have no way to help them clear other camps.

Smite buffs are given as soon as you smite the monster; otherwise smiting kurgs/gromp wouldn't be as good a start.
