PSA: as the front line, you should always be in front for your backline

In any situation, as the tank you always want to be in front of your carries to block skillshot and cc.

An ahri flash charm? Eat it. A blitz hook? Take it. It's better for you to get cc than your carries to get cc. You have a chance to survive and still contribute to the team when you got hit by the skillshots, your carries probably don't.

Especially in sieging situation, whether you are sieging or getting sieged, you need to stand in front of your carry so they can safely hit the tower/wave clear without worrying about getting hit by enemy hard cc or taking a shit chunk of damage.

for example, a Velkoz team is getting sieged on, Velkoz can kill the wave with two w, but enemy has a Blitzcrank who can hook velkoz when he stands forward for waveclear. Now as the tank what should you do? you stand in front of Velkoz so he can wave clear and enemy can't get damage onto the tower. If you get hook by blitz into his team then congratulation that is basically what 90% of the tanks wish for every day.

TL;DR Always stand in front of your backline when you are the front line and body block for them. You might feel like it puts you in a dangerous position, but it is better than your carry being in one.

No, I'll 1v5 engage expecting my team to follow up just to leave me dying, (As shyvana/yi) with some cc and then the feeders (all 4 other players in other words) Say "SHYV YOU SUCK 1V5 WTF" When they don't follow up and vlad loses lane to ekko when I burned his flash.

It is so frustrating to watch my tank run around aimlessly when we are pushing or vice versa. It's your job to take damage. Don't like taking all that damage? Then engage.

This is why I hate a lot of the juggernaut and "tanky" fighters as my top and jg, they think in their mind that they are a carry when they were supposed to be a tank with some damage.

Many squishies improperly position. You can't blame the tanks for your carries misplaying.

You should be staying out of range to be locked down until after CDs are blown on someone else. No exceptions.

Don't dive on the backline, whack their frontline until spells are blown defensively on your frontline.

Don't even consider going for the backline until after they blow their load trying to dissuade your frontline. Depending on their frontline, you may want to finish killing them before going for the backline.

If you get hooked as Vel'Koz, you are a bad Vel'Koz or didn't have vision. You have plenty of range, relative to Blitz, to waveclear safely. Not to mention that you should be clearing the wave before it hits tower; if a wave was already there when you and the enemy get there, that tower is probably going down no matter what you do.

The thing is, in order to siege/waveclear, you have to get in range of threats. If you are just staying away from threat 24/7 then you can not do any damage to a tower and you can't clear any minion to save your tower. And when the carries do that, it is the tank's responsibility to protect them from being threaten by the threat.

If the damage bar doesn't look like this, you have failed as a frontliner;

Or the enemy mostly ignored you.

I think the term line is a misnomer. You don't have to form siege lines like trench patterns in ww1. Think of it more like a circle. You should do your best to position between enemy threats and your team no matter the direction.

Another mistake new tanks make is they try to here engage and die 1 v 3 etc. Be careful when engaging and make sure the team is in the same page as you. Use a lot of pings BEFORE you engage.

Tanks are fun, but ultimately you play the game however you enjoy it the best. If you have fun at stunlocking an ulting rengar then you do that. If you enjoy 100-0 the enemy carry that's fun too.

It's your choice to build and play however you like, as long as you're having fun :) just be respectful

Its better for no one to take it than expect someone to eat every skill shot.
