It has been really bad recently. Every match literally feels dependent on who got the shittiest team mate rather than which team had better team work. Team A could be 3 amazing players, 1 neutral player and someone that is just absolute trash and they will lose against Team B of 5 neutral players. The 3 amazing players get held back and get beat by 5 neutral players due to that 1 absolute trash player that makes it feel like a 4v6.
I don't even really know what can be done to fix it, lowering the amount of gold someone gives for 2nd or 3rd death in a row might help a little for early/mid game but late game having a 4v5 it won't matter much.
There just needs to be a system in place which detects which players costed the lost and make them lose more MMR while giving less penalties to people that were actually playing better than the winning team. This has to be more than just KDA Too because it is easy for people to KDA pad by being absolutely useless and just holding abilities until they can burst their 600 HP worth of damage on someone that has 100 HP for the kill. Total stats like Gold per Minute,, Experience per Minute, Damage Taken per Death based on champ, all that stuff needs to be finally factored in. Riot should hire a team to finally make the ranked system capable of understanding individual stats. In Starcraft if you played in Teams and you dominated but lost due to having bad team mates by the luck of the draw you could still promote. I actually promoted into Diamond off a loss because I was clearly better than everyone else in the game but couldn't 1v3 in SC2. This is because that game understands how to read individual stats.
Having everyone on the winning team and losing team be given MMR or having it taken away equally is straight up dumb; if I go 15-3-12 and lose I shouldn't lose as much as the guy that went 3-20-4 that just trolled the game because they got boosted too high by their friends in DynQ.
