I never believed Riot pulled favorites...

Until the Kassadin nerfs.

No matter how much people complained, I always defended Riot's balance team. "Wait and see after a few weeks", I said. "Maybe they're just misguided, post constructive criticism" I said. And I stand by that. But there's one thing I can't say anymore. "Riot doesn't have favorites."

Because that's a straight up lie, and my Mother didn't rase no liar.

The whole shtick about Kassadin is being ultra-mobile. He sacrifices burst (Has about half the base damage of LB and a slightly smaller total AP ratio), has huge mana costs after 2 usages, and tends to be unable to fight any AD champion 1 on 1 until the very late game.

Was his laning phase pre-6 too safe? Or maybe he could poke too well? Why not increase his Q cooldown massively on the early levels and have it be equal to what's now at 5 points? Why destroy his signature?

Kassadin was the first. Before LeBlanc, before Nidalee, before motherfucking Kalista, Kassadin was the most mobile champion in this game, and that was his defining characterstic. So why, when it comes to nerfs, would you make him outclassed by every other champion mentioned? Why is LeBlanc's possible double W (For which she barely sacrifices damage when compared with double Q because her stupid goddamned mobility spell has huge amounts of damage - another thing Kassadin lacks until about 40 minutes in with a minimum of 3 stacks) healthier than Kassadin? Or nidalee's costless 350 range 5 second jump? With her passive, she ends up covering more terrain than Kass, even before the ulti obliteration he suffered. Bloody Kalista has a costless, limitless dash which is only restricted by her attack speed, which isn't really a true restriction, because as a Marksman she WILL mandatorily build attack speed anyways. And yet it's Kassadin's mobility which has to go?

I get that Kassadin was a very strong pick at the LCS. That's because he was too safe in his pre-6 laning, and it was hard for a meta-pick to counter his weaknessses. Shuffle around his power then, or restrict access to his power on the early game.

But no. I'm more and more conviced that the higher-ups at Riot despise their own game, and are actively trying to sabotage it as sneakily as powerful.

They took the League of Legends from the League of Legends (Still ultra bitter about that idiocracy) They took the mobility out of THE mobility champion, making him outclassed by his opponents at EVERYTHING now, instead at merely most things. They continuously shut off from the community, and their only posts in the forums are small time comments on (overhaul) pointless things, and the rare exception is almost always filled with condescence and holier-than-thou attitude. The PBE is there just to give SurrAt20 a job, and to recieve feedback from the Art Team (Can't be said enough, you guys are awesome. I wish all of Riot was like you). Gameplay and Balance changes, no matter how reviled or obviously terrible, go through 99% of the time.

With the release of DotA 2's Oracle, my favorite DotA All-stars hero, I'm seeing little reason to keep playing LoL for now.

And this is coming from the mouth of someone who played since the Beta/Pre-season 1.

I saw and lived through Beta TF, Release Xin Zhao, Vayne, Graves and LeBlanc, Zyra's crazy 63% winrate, all of Kassadin's moments of glory, "better nerf Irelia", Nocturne's rise and fall, League of Cleavers/BoTRK/Warmogs and who could forget the oh so dreadful Metagolem.

I went through all this, and this season is what disgusts me enough to make me consider stop playing. Ponder about that for a moment.

Assuming you know about the fact that Riot openly said Lee Sin is massively OP but wont nerf him because they don't want to since he makes LCS more exciting, then I don't see how it took you this long to see that Riot ONLY plays favorites with their champion balance. They even gave him massive buffs this patch with the new yellow trinket, he gets 2 free dashes for nothing now and doesn't have to waste gold on a sightstone anymore.

Fuck, it goes back even farther than that too. Proxy singed? not allowed. Pushing top lane early? top and mid towers get huge armor boosts for the first 7 mins of the game, while bot is left the same. Olaf being the anti-carry he was designed to be? better gut him so our darling Vayne can go back to having zero late game counters. The bottom line of it is that Riot has a very specific way they want their game to be played, and anything challenging that instantly gets removed from the game. The reds on the forums will spew all kinds of bullshit when asked about it too, saying "We don't enforce the meta" and the like, but only actions truly speak, and their actions show quite the contrary to what they say they want the game to be.

Riot is the equivalent of a sellout who doesn't care about their customer base anymore because they're now owned by a corporation who doesn't care about anything except the cash flow, and has been since Tencent took over, so I won't care either. I'll still play their game, if you can even call it one anymore, but I definitely wont buy anything from them anymore because I'm not going to support a company that's going to ruin this type of thing, just like EA has done in the past. That said, I still think the Riot games employees themselves are amazing people. Watching the graphical designs evolve to what they are today was awesome. Just go look at the older champion models verses newer ones and you can see that they've come a long way.

Wait, are you HONESTLY trying to defend proxy singed and pre-rework Olaf? Really?
