is Xerath playable?

I've been trying forever to learn this champion, but his spells seem to have too many drawbacks for simple range. Every single spell minus his E has a cast time and a warning, with his ult having two warnings. But hey,I'm bad at this game, does any experienced Xerath player have anything else to say?

Xerath is extremely good at all phases of the game, with exceptional range, teamfighting capability, hard CC, kiting power, blue-stealing powers, late game damage, and early game mana-sustain.

He is VERY worth picking up, and very playable.

He is fine. He has good long range poke that makes it very hard for the opposing team to engage on him. He also has a pretty decent global presence with his ultimate.

He's a solid champion. You have to get used to the delays and practice predicting how your enemies will react to your animations.

Also a deceptively powerful counter-attacker, seeing that all of his important burst is dealt in less than the minimum 0.75 stun duration of his E.

xerath is a pretty good champ and is more than just "playable." he is tricky though becaus all of his abilities are skillshots and he is rather imobile. what you want to do as him is take advantage of his long range, that being said you should also be looking to hang back in fights and deal solid damage from afar. in lane you should be looking to hit as many things as possible with his abilities, now i dont mean spam them, i mean if you are going to use your q to hit creeps, do it when the enemy laner is in the creeps to get the most from each cast. if you are playing in a draft type game mode, i would not reccomend blind picking him, as he is very counterpickable. when you are playing xerath you should also be looking at what summoner spells you bring. as you may or may not know, most mid lane picks are going to be running flash and ignite/barrier, xerath is one of the champions that you are going to be wanting to run barrier. this is because you are going to be looking to pick people off at a range and you are rarely going to be in range to use ignite, also because you are not necessarly looking to kill everyone as xerath, granted kills are always nice, but as xerath you are going to be looking to stay alive and do as much damage as you can in fights. i hope i helped, if you have any questions feel free to ask either here or in game!

It all depends on whether or not you can land his combo and whether or not you can master his ult. At least that seems to be the case from what I've seen (I don't play him). He also seems to be more of a counter pick who screws over certain mid laners more than a champ you want to main, but I could be wrong about that.

He's one of the strongest mages in the game. Yes he's playable and extremely strong in the mid lane.

Xer is very strong. It's just that all of his abilities are skill shots, so you have to practice him A LOT to be good with him. Once you have him down though, he doesn't have too many hard counters.
