Newer players will never understand the true meme of "Better nerf Irelia" the constant stream of nerfing that happen with a young still growing riot wont really take place like it once use to. typically now if they nerf something thats it for a long period of time with maybe 1 or 2 fixes if needed (same with buffs)

But back then some champs could end up getting nerf EVERY patch because the team back then still was learning what they were aiming for compared to the team as of today. But it was still hilarious ... Graves top of the winrates ... Riot Nerfs Irelia, Riven dominating top lane .... Riot Nerfs Irelia, Lee Sin owning the jungle ... Riot Nerfs Irelia ... Patch after patch it was amusing to see =P

You know, what's funny is that there have been people who have proven that "Better Nerf Irelia" meme was largely unjustified, for she's gotten far less nerfs than some other champs. Just that, for some reason, people noticed nerfs towards Irelia far more than any other champ.

It was because riot would ignore completely broken shit and proceed to nerf irelia again. This meme isn't about irelia being nerfed the hardest or whatever. This meme existed because riot would definitely nerf irelia for no reason while ignoring everything else.

The meme started one patch when Irelia had already been nerfed like 3 times in a row and Akali (and another champ I forget which) was completely dominating solo queue but instead of nerfing either of those champs they nerfed Irelia again.

I'd be so proud if they deliberately set her up with more power than they intended in that part, and then nerfed it to bring it back down to what they really intended, for the sole purpose of starting this up.
