I know this is a game and we shouldn't take it seriously

But please stop using the word cancer for everything.

Here is why :

  • on 10 people taken randomly there is a lot of chances that 3 will contract cancer in their life. So it can be me you or anyone you know. You father mother, best friend. For sure in your life you will know someone that will contract cancer.

  • most of cancers have only around 60% of chances of survival and that if being diagnostiqued in early or early mid stages.

  • it is a horrible way to say goodbye to life.

So for respect for those people that died or those that are ill pls don't use the word without taking that in consideration.

You can be toxic however don't joke with cancer because cancer jokes on all of us...

So, it sounds like you have two choices: 1: Stop being so sensitive. Allow me to explain. The word cancer is used to describe aspects of the game because of how sobering the reality of the disease is. Is the term overused and having its impact lessened? Yes, but that is a different problem that you weren't talking about. For instance, I did, do, and will never stop calling Brand "support" cancer. When the champion exists in the game, he actually sucks all of the joy away from any champion in the game he comes into contact with, be it an allied or enemy champion. Seeing his portrait makes me want to quit the game and tilts me to the point of nausea. His entire kit is CANCEROUS to play with/against, and I say cancerous because of exactly how bad it is. Brand is the only champion that I use the term to describe. 2: When you see the word cancer used in your games, and it really gets to you, just be polite and ask them to not use the word. Usually people are understanding if you are genuine with them. Cancer killed my both my great grandfather and my grand mother, is killing my uncle, and runs rife in both sides of my family. I am more likely to suffer from at least one variety of cancer than the average person. There is a very real, not 0% chance that it will end up being what kills me, and I'm not really expecting to live to a ripe old age. Cancer happens, and there is no use avoiding it like a dirty word. Anyhow, on a level I do get you. What I do not, and refuse to joke about is mental illness. I cringe when people call champions stuff like autistic, because mental illnesses have ruined a cousin of mine's life, and my great uncle's who has the mind of an 8 year old. I know that players are usually accommodating, because when people throw around retarded and autistic in the game, I let them know politely, and usually they refrain from further uses of the words. It doesn't always work, but you can't control or otherwise try to shame people via the boards for not being sensitive to your beliefs. Then again, that's just where I'm coming from. You might not feel me.

At the end of the day we all will die, have had family die of cancer, it is a way of life. And if something in a game is bad, calling something cancer isn't bad. It is a blunt word we all see as a bad thing. But if you are calling for people to get cancer, I hope karma bites them hard.
