What I'd like to see in Taric's Rework

Just some theorycrafting and fun here.

Some of the things I like about Taric: -Reliable stun -Dual heal -On-hit power -Armor self-buff -Team-wide support facet

I think it would make a lot of sense if Taric remains immobile, but provides a lot of close-proximity threat. And because straight stat-buffing auras feel quite intangible, he needs to have another way to support his teammates.

Shatter: -Still gives him an armor buff -No more team armor buff aura -No more enemy armor shred +PBAoE stun to damaged targets. Maybe same duration as Dazzle's stun is? +While Shatter is available to use, nearby champions begin to gain a defensive gem shard. _.These shards would mitigate the next instance of damage by a flat amount and scale with Taric's armor. Not sure if they should mitigate any damage or just magic damage. A good number may be 30/40/50/60/70 (+0.3 Taric's bonus armor)? .An allied champion must be near Taric for a certain amount of time before they gain a charge (maybe 10 seconds? max 2 charges?). .The charge(s) would be lost if the ally left the protective radius of Taric. .Taric does not gain a gem shard for himself. _

Pros: I think this change to Shatter pushes Taric into a role of "anti-siege/poke supporting Tank". It gives a lot of threat against team comps who want to hard engage on his team because he can AoE stun enemies around him, and he provides defensiveness to allies when his team is in a standoff against a siege/poke team.

Cons: However, this may be a poor change in that it gives superior safety for siege/poke comps by deterring hard engage comps from actually hard engaging onto a siege/poke comp. Or if two teams are composed to be siege/poke, then it comes down to "which team has Taric".

Dazzle: -Stun removed, added to Shatter +Taric blinds in a cone in a target direction, dealing damage and marking the blinded targets. +Any instance of Taric dealing damage to a blinded target will consume the mark, dealing extra damage to the target.

Pros: This would give Taric some ranged utility, helping him in the bot lane against other Marksmen or ranged poke supports, and would help incorporate a part of his passive. A blind on Taric makes somewhat thematic sense, using gems to refract light at a person's eyes to blind them.

Cons: Might be too excessive in tandem with his Point-Blank AoE stun, and might make him unkillable to Marksmen on account of them being blinded as well as Taric having self-buffing armor.

I have no idea what I'd do for his passive, Imbue, or Radiance. I just wanted to entertain the idea of Taric having a conal blind and a PBAoE stun, while giving defensive benefit to his nearby allies beyond just straight stat boosting.

What do you guys want to see out of the reworked Taric??

For someone who dazzles stuff, I think he should get a blind and a stun. Also make him look like his Chinese Splash and it's all dandy.

Well, they have said they finalised his kit already. So suggestions at this point are moot.

But a while back I made a suggestion for a Taric rework which I thought might have been cool.

Passive was some generic mechanic to make his hammer hit a little harder, probs based on his armor.

Q was to remain a heal, which also applied a "gem coat" [shield based on taric's armor] to target ally.

W was going to periodically apply gem coats to Taric himself, while activating W would shatter all coats on allies for AOE damage.

E was going to become a burst of light charm, which would refract upon hitting a Gem Coated ally or a ward, into multiple directions and [different colours]. You could hit up to 5 enemies with it with good positioning, and it would work kind of like Vel'Koz's ult, and look like the Mirror Shield ray from Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time.

R made Taric channel for 2.5 seconds, then shine brightly, intensify his Armor and Magic Resist greatly, while reflecting incoming projectiles back towards his attackers for 7 seconds. If he cancelled this ability during this time, he gives allies bonus AP, and Armor Pen ["Diamond Edges"] on their basic attacks for the remainder of the ability.

But yes, I hope they keep his simplistic gameplay during laning, while adding something more interesting for him to do when fights happen. I like the relaxed feeling I get when playing Taric, his soothing voice and simple, reliable laning gameplay is great [like sitting in the intel room as an Engineer in TF2, being lazy but useful]; but I would also like to feel less helpless during teamfights.

One thing I would really really like to see out of the reworked Taric is Dennis Collins Johnson returning to do the voiceover, or if not, for the Emerald Taric skin to retain his classic voiceover.
