Frozen Heart feels a bit awkward so i made a rework concept.

Used to be one of my favorite items to rush, especially on Sion It was such a nice item but these days i never really buy it anymore nor do i see it often anymore

It was always there as the mana option but now that we have we don't need it for that any longer

Only time i still buy it is when im playing a mage and i need mana, cdr and a way to deal with that pesky zed or talon and i know that isn't it's intended use. im not supposed to be a mega tanky mage.

It doesn't give hp and i have other options to get cdr, most of the time ill be fine without a mana item and if i need more ill get abyssal mask which gives me mana for being hit which is my job as a tank.

Any other tanky champion, like juggernauts or fighters often have such low manacosts they struggle to go oom and they too can just grab abyssal mask if needed

Cdr isn't hard to come by these days so that is no longer a reason to grab it and mana is either a non issue or there are better options which leaves us with 90 armor and a mediocre 15% speed slow Now don't get me wrong, those stats are great and all, but i'm not paying 2700 gold for them.

I got it back in the day for the stats but also because it was cheap at 2450, 100 armor before your opponent could finish their first AD item hell yea, attackspeed slow on top, and a hefty amount of cdr with mana to back it up for some spell spamming. It was great when dealing with the likes of riven beck then as a beefy top laner because it gave everything you needed to do so

But now you no longer need it, other items give more armor now, there are more cdr & mana options, and even if you do want it you can't because you are already carrying more useful utility items which lack health.

For example i grab + then i got no more room for because i would have too little hp

Here is a list of other options i have as a tank for armor + cdr, some even give me mana most of them more useful actives/passives too

And then i have Mr options for cdr too, again with good passives, well at least not worse then FH but they also give health or mana/hp sustain

Might buy this on a tank sometime if i need more utility also fixes my cdr/mana issues might buy this for the hp and cdr to back up my other tank purchases

Frozen Heart feels awkward right now I no longer need FH for CDR or Mana, so i end up paying 2700 for stats i can get from other items, barring the attack speed slow which isn't that impactful, yea it does stuff but it's not not enough to warrant buying this item.

Anyway

Lowering it's cost will just bring back the old days where you grab it as first item and make riven mains cry, and as much as we all want to make riven mains cry this isn't really a solution to FH's awkward situation. Buffing it's stats would essentially be the same as lowering it's cost, except it might be worse so lets not do that. ** The Concept** That being said this is how i would give FH the boost it deserves to regain it's former glory, i would bring it more in line with the other tank items but with more emphasis on sustain and defense over the health the other options give. additionally it would function as a more expensive buy for tank supports

90 armor 10% cdr 50% mana regen Unique passive: 15% as slow Unique passive: + 20% healing & shield power Unique passive - Icy blood: Reduces damage Taken by 7,5% of bonus armor after resistances.

Now it is the anti bleed option, giving 15 reduced damage per 200 bonus armor, that shouldn't be too high but it should help vs bleeding and burning And it would fit thematically. It also gives stronger self healing, i specifically changed that to benefit beefy characters who can now use this to boost their sustain and benefit from stronger heals from allies etc it's similar to visage in that way but not as powerful. Should feel less awkward to build with less cdr and mana

Now you actually pay for some useful stuff instead of wasting gold on excessive cdr and mana

And it's not really abuse able for anyone who doesn't build additional defense. or has some healing or shielding in their kit, which would be tanks and such, having either shielding or healing but rarely both so keep that in mind.
