Honestly, i dont think ive ever lost lane against him.
When i see TF picked for mid (against me), i feel happy. I know i am going to win lane and always do. Myself, i think hes very weak and in need of a buff. I have played this champion maybe once and fought against him hundreds of times and can honestly say..

LostFr0st4 votesTF isn't supposed to win lane. If someone is picking him to win lane they shouldn't be picking him. He's picked to tip the other two lanes in his team's favour in exchange for losing/barely going even mid.
Elkington VI2 votesTF is a risky champion to buff, as he punishes mistakes harder than nearly any other champion in the game. He also has really good waveclear and wrecks structures with Lich Bane. How would one even go about buffing him? His kit pretty much has everything that's required to carry a game.

Seth the Green1 voteshe can do a stun, AOE, or gain mana back every few seconds, plus with lichbane and his e he does a ton of damage with one auto if stacked together. If you always beat tf, maybe you are always a counter, or they are terrible
Sir Fuzzi1 votesHe's got great farm and can zip between two lanes (technically, three, with teleport). He has great burst options and procs Lich Bane and Luden's like it's going out of style. He may not be the strongest laner, but I don't think I can recall a time where his map presence wasn't at least widely recognized.
The explanation I heard for him is that he has great and easy lane clear, a hard stun, mana sustain and the ability to provide unequaled splitpush where his competitors are concerned.
Also, don't admit you've played a champion once if you're trying to make a statement. Play him, recognize his strengths. You'd be surprised how often people misuse champs' potential in League, even in norms or ranked.

Playing tf is basically positioning, dodging skillshots and punishing people out of position.... Until late game when you have 6 items like 
with 
+ Baron + Elder and can literally 1-shot any adc with w alone.

And lategame, he has slows and stuns and aoe damage/clear out the ass.
