What is peoples issue with kennen support?

I played kennen support long before top players did it and was raged at for it. During the time top players played it, everyone accepted it. Now that its been a while everyone is back to hating it again. Kennen has one of the best ults in the game in my personal opinion, even if its not one of the best its still pretty darn good. He has easy and good poke damage. Are people in this game just sheep who follow whatever the pros play, and when they stop playing it, it must be bad?

Most players will immediately assume you are trolling when you pick an off-meta SUPPORT. **Everyone knows Support is the least-played role, it's one most players dont like, so if A player picks something odd, like double ADC, or.. Mundo support... or.. Anivia Support? They think the person doesnt want to be support and will throw the game. **

(Also, Support Mundo secret OP as fffu.)

So long as your staying in lane and supporting your ADC when needed, it shouldn't matter what your playing. Now if your going off on your own, leaving your squishy ADC to 1 vrs2-3 while you roam ( or counter jungle) or feeding bot lane, then yes they have a right to rage/report.

That being said I really want to try Anivia support but her win rate has me skeptical to even try.

if you arent doing the meta then your a troll... people dont like the unknown or like to think... they are sheep ...

you tried to be out of the box and it scared the herd

like before worlds if you went MF support it was trolling... now they did it in worlds its ok

let take a look at all the "supports' who were off meta

now majority of these champs are played there regularly and no one cares

some of the old off meta " kill lanes" were champs like Darius JarvanIV Pantheon Rengar

Miss Fortune support. Just want to bring that back up for you to realise what people were copying without any idea of how or why.

But mostly its just people who are "meta only, never break meta, you break meta we 9x report you."

The chances of off-meta picks being legit and not some guy trolling seems a lot lower to people not fully comprehending the game themselves.

I did it for quite a while he's a great support by far, however brands and zyra's make it extremely hard to win the lane with. He can't really engage early to take advantage of his strengths so he it becomes a farm lane and kennen having to roam to be effective. Because they all proc their spell thiefs and green mastery so easily without the worry of taking damage in return it makes it a losing battle for kennen to stay in the lane most the time. So if your forced into these picks its almost better to dodge same with alistar as he punishes your engage early on and will just flash knock up and throw you to his adc and enemy minions.
