Au Sol's ult is really disappointing..

I like most of his kit except for how.. underwhelming his ult is. His E is a little bit of a letdown too but it's at least interesting on paper.

It just seems really out-of-place for what his character is and that Riot could've done more with it. A star creating dragon's ultimate ability is a fatter Xerath Q with a conditional knock-back? No super-massive stars, no collapsing them into black holes? Could've even done something like Soraka's old Starcall, where he makes starfire rain down on people.

not gonna knock on him otherwise, he looks really well done and his art design is something I hope to be seeing more of soon. But I feel like his passive and Q are far more interesting and impactful than his ultimate, and that just kinda irks me.

People complain when kits are overloaded.

People complain when an ability is simple.

Riot cannot win.

They will never win. People will never be satisifed (Blizzard/WoW are going through this shit too, where the community is never satisfied)

well you just said its disappointing as if its a fact in the title.

If you wanted to say its an opinion, you should've edited the title to say "I think...." and so on. I do disagree with you however but overall I think he's awesome lol.

saying something is disappointing kind of explicitly states that I am disappointed in it, which is an opinion

i feel like his Q looks more like an ultimate than his actual ultimate, and it doesn't strike me as anything that fits him other than that he just needed some sort of self-peel

Didn't mean it as an insult towards you, but there are a lot of people that are never happy with what they're given.

that's fine, i'm not trying to be aggressively ungrateful for the champ riot's made

just lamenting how his ultimate doesn't really enhance his theme for me. I don't feel like I'll have a "big moment" that Riot loves to do with ultimate abilities when I use it

I think it's a less powerful version of Sonas Ulti...

Utility wise, maybe.

Damage wise, most likely not.

The peel effect is mostly for himself and not really his allies.

I agree. Ulti of star-forging dragon just SHOULD be GIANT FREAKING STAR SHOWER

Wouldn't that destroy his own creations? The heavens are his work, why would he call them to crash down?

why would he call them to crash down

To type "/all rekt"

He says in one of his quotes "I would set fire to the heavens to catch Targon in the fire" or something like that

So clearly, he's not above it if he's willing to destroy the universe for Targon

Wow ok, well thats being a dragon for ya I guess. XD

Gangplank The Star Forger, then?

I'm honestly fine with it. The rest of his kit is rather unique, his ult doesn't have to be the most interesting. I think the only way I can fault it is that it seems similar to kuklakahn's ult from smite. But they are both serpentine dragon creatures, and the ults fit thematically so it's fine by me.

I don't think super-massive stars and black holes make sense in this universe.

I'm not a lore buff but the new champion makes more sense if you look at their world from the perspective of old myths and religion with Earth as the center of the universe and everything else spinning around it. Stars are not distant suns with their own planets but are actually just tiny spheres of light created and maintained by Aurelion Sol and he writes the heavens with signs to come as such stuff.

Super-massive stars and black holes don't really fit into such a world the same way it does in the real world. Let alone throwing such things at people. The stars Aurelion Sol throws around make more sense because they are smaller scale then the real world.

I don't know if this jives with the actual lore though.

His ult could have been way cooler, yea, but I'm perfectly fine with how it is. Looks to do a fair bit of damage with some CC which is cool, the rest of his kit is cool too. Nice to not have a completely overloaded 20 passive champ for once.
