Why do people complain about a champion being op when they let them snowball?

IsIsGankedParis··3 votes·952 views

I was playing Darius and did a jungle camp at level 1 for level 2 and went into lane vs a Vladimir.

I had Q and E and Vlad was level 1 and he like most Vlads try to walk up to a melee champion and harass with Q, into my pull range.

I grab him and get him below half health and he cmomplains in all chat that I did too much damage.

He repeats this again and again in lane getting me really fed where I can 1v2 and 1v3 now.

Enemy team was complaining that I had too much damage and they couldnt kite me away.

I wont say Darius is op or is not op, but why does this happen?

The problem I see a lot of people make concerning OP champs is this. The aren't OP because they got fed, they got fed because they are OP. It's cause and effect.

So Darius was op because vlad walked into pull range when he was level 1 and I hit 2 from a camp?

SymbolicFear3 votes

The issue is, Darius is broken. He has too much damage, too much sustain, and he builds tanky. Vladimir is a champion focused on poke and lifesteal. If you are able to do that much to him at level 2, there is an issue.

EDIT: Also, if you really are a "juggernaut main" as your name suggests... its pathetic...

IsIsGankedParis2 votes

If I played riven it would have been first blood. Do you know how strong a level advantage early is?

Youre telling me that because Vlad walked into pull range when he was level 1 and I was level 2 and punished him for it, that Darius is op.

SymbolicFear2 votes

No, for someone such as Darius, that is op. He builds nearly full tank with MAYBE 1 AD item, champions like that have no right to do that much damage. Riven is a fighter, she is supposed to do a lot of damage.

What really makes Darius broken is the fact that you can't lose unless someone on the enemy team just outright counter-picks you. Darius has too much sustain and too much damage. You shouldn't be able to pull anyone in and out trade them regardless. Lets be honest, even if you were level 1, you would have still done about as much damage.

IsIsGankedParis2 votes

I wouldnt have because his Q doesnt slow and it is hard to get 5 stacks as Darius with .6 attack speed at level 1 unless the enemy is slowed or stays to fight in melee range...

SymbolicFear1 votes

You still have your bleed from your passive. At 2-3 stacks, it begins to hurt quite a bit.

IsIsGankedParis2 votes

10+.3 bonus ad each stack, say i start the game with 20 bonus AD i would gain roughly 3.3 damage over 5 seconds. 3 stacks would deal roughly 40 physical damage over 5 seconds if the target has no amor.

Tons of damage amirite?

SymbolicFear1 votes

When your target is level 1-3, that is actually a decent chunk. Vlad has roughly 500 health at level 1, so 40 of that is still damage that is over time.

IsIsGankedParis2 votes

542.8 health at level 1, add another 32 from masteries then it is 574.8, with his passive. Say he starts with 20 ap he gains 20x1.4 health from his passive meaning another 28 health which is 602 health. He mostly starts with 602 health unless he went utility and no defense, which then he would start with 570 health unless he also started with 0 ap in which he would have 542 health.

40 of 542 is 7% of his max health.

SymbolicFear1 votes

And that's quite a bit of damage for that early.

Problem is... Vlad can't do anything unless he walks into pull range. Like a lot of other top laners.

Edit: And reading the second page, Vlad's Q has Cast time. So. Yeah...

bullshit.

he clearly made a mistake. valdimir has the upper hand in that matchup. he knew the darius would hit level 2 before him or that there was at least the chance. if he waited at least until he had trollpool available, he could just move out of the pull and resume poking.

due to being ranged and resourceless, vlad has the upper hand when it comes to sustain and simply should have worn the darius down until he runs out of mana.

darius is fine. people just like to blame the champion instead of their own mistakes. hes neither overtuned nor op, especially not against an unfavourable matchup.

SymbolicFear2 votes

Im not saying that Vladimir didn't make a mistake, he did. But that doesn't mean Darius isn't garbage and overpowered while taking 0 skill to play. Darius is nigh un-killable without hard countering him in champ select. There is 0 counter-PLAY against Darius. Also Vlad doesn't have the upper hand against Darius, its a stall lane. Actually, you win that match-up since his highest range ability, his Q, is apparently within range of your pool. So Darius is able to keep him from farming under certain death. You don't fool anybody kido.

vlad is weak as shit early game you fool

Exactly, I refuse to play Darius, Garen, and Mordekaiser cause I don't need an over-tuned champion to do well. Players that main champions or at least play them a lot while they are broken JUST BECAUSE they are broken are the trash of the community... Anti-Fun players that enjoy being cancerous in a nutshell.

IsIsGankedParis2 votes

I have mained Darius since pre rework and players that main cancerous/op champions when they are op do it to win.

Sounds like what most people who want to advance in games and real life would do: abuse something that is looked down upon if it means moving ahead in life.

SymbolicFear2 votes
  1. Its a game...
  2. You are the kind of players who ruin the game

Like I said in a previous statement. Players who main champions that are broken just because they are broken are the trash of the community and ruin the fun for everyone else in that game. I simply refuse to play those champions cause I have real skill and I use that to win, not a broken aspect of the game cause I find that to be similar to cheating.

IsIsGankedParis2 votes

You have real skill which is why youre silver 4 and im not? I dont use rank comparisons unless someone is talking out of their ass.

SymbolicFear1 votes

I've played less than 40 ranked games all season. I don't enjoy solo q so I tend to not do it. The ranked games I did play was just playing support for friends who were in bronze.

Rank means nothing. I know gold, plat, and even Diamond players who aren't impressive in any way.

You say "youre silver 4 and im not" like you are good, yet you are using a massively overpowered cancerous champion to win. Its not skill that got you to whatever rank you are, its just being anti-fun and a cancer of the community...

IsIsGankedParis2 votes

Why is it bad I like to play Darius? Why arent you calling out the mord mains and calling them a cancer despite them having mained their champ pre rework and even now, like me?

What is the problem with liking a champion that you would play them when they are good or bad?

You are frankly an asshole calling people a cancer to the community when all I made this thread is to have a conversation. I never said Darius was op or balanced in my op, just asked a question to discuss with people yet you come here and start calling myself and others a cancer for playing a champion.

SymbolicFear1 votes

Your title is asking "Why do people complain about a champion being op when they let them snowball" so its basically saying, "No, Darius isn't OP, these kids just suck" and that is what annoyed me. Also, I used to be a Fiora main before the rework, now I still like to play her every once in while even though she is broken, though I go AP Fiora so I am not being an anti-fun cancerous douche to everyone and ruining the game by auto-winning due to Riot's failure to balance the champion. I don't pretend I am good when I do well with her either, cause I know she is a busted champion.

Also, Mordekaiser isn't broken anymore, he is just annoying at times. Darius is both annoying and broken. By the way, I AM an asshole and I know it.

IsIsGankedParis3 votes

Mord isnt broken.

Thanks for clarifying that I should stop taking you seriously anymore. Also you say you go AP fiora which is why your laat fiora game was AD.

Hypocrite much?

SymbolicFear1 votes

My last fiora game was AD cause when I started going AP with Doran's Ring, the Lee Sin top started trash talking me due to my rank and said some rather offensive comments about my mother so I punished him for it. I stayed top lane the entire game and only killed people who came after me. Which was really just Lee Sin and I think the support went up there with the jungler one time. At which point I got a triple. But still, I was going AP till the Lee Sin basically demanded I try.

Plus it was a blind pick in norms...

SymbolicFear1 votes

Also, Mordekaiser isn't broken cause he doesn't have % heals, a pull, nor does he have ranged auto's like marksmen do. Any marksmen can beat a Mordekaiser just be playing moderately safe and farming while poking with auto's at the opportunities.

Yet you can't do that with Darius cause he will just pull you and kill you, yet if you try to trade, he will just walk to the side or back up slightly to proc his Q heal that makes him nigh impossible to kill.

this is so dumb. ive beaten darius a lot in lane since his rework.

yea, if you pick the wrong champion into him, hes going to slap you around and snowball. but thats true for pretty much any champion.

you pick tryndamere or jax into malphite, you get destroyed. you pick darius into quinn, riven, lyss, ryze, gnar, a top lane vayne, vlad or just a support janna or an anivia on the enemy team, youre gonna get fucked.

counterpicks exist. the champion isnt broken just because ehs tanky and deals a lot of damage. he doesnt have utility or mobility.

SymbolicFear1 votes

Darius should beat Ryze for one, Ryze roots Darius, Darius pulls Ryze when getting low on health for the Q heal and just lay into him... Its easy. Also, you shouldn't be forced to pick a champion SPECIFICLY to deal with Darius instead of picking a champion that will benefit your team. Darius beats almost everyone who is not a hard counter to him.

ryze doesnt even need the root to beat darius. he can easily fit gauntlet into his build and spam slow fields. but together with the root that he can spam nonstop when he triggers his passive, darius is not an issue.

there are a lot of champions who are skill matchups for him or go even in trades.

SymbolicFear1 votes

That's only if the Darius is intentionally feeding by just straight up walking at the Ryze... Darius should beat Ryze every time if the Darius isn't trolling or just plain and simply doesn't know what he's doing.

Just a note to the people in this thread:

Vladimir's Q has a 600 Range.

Darius' Apprehend has 550 Range.

The Vald made the mistake of letting a Darius pull him in early. Vlad has a weak early game and Darius has a great early game. It seems like the Vald was the baddy by letting the OP pull him in the 1st place.

SymbolicFear1 votes

True, but also, that 50 range is really just half a second of walking towards the target...

Vlad was bad, but still, my point is the OP shouldn't be acting all high and mighty and treating his opponents poorly due to him using such a broken unfair champion.

Trust me, that 50 range is a lot on a champ with no movement speed or real gap closers.

I honestly don't find Darius to be very broken. I regularly take Vlad into him and he cannot do anything at all.

I guess it it just a matter of opinion/experience.
