Malzahar Main here. At first I hated the rework, because I'd really mastered old Malzahar. Losing Null Zone on W is rough, but I love popping Thunderlord's with a quick E-Q combo.

The stats on Rylai's Crystal Scepter were nerfed, but it is far cheaper and can be purchased earlier.

Until you hit the late-game, the loss of slot efficiency isn't really an issue.
