Anyone else thought this when jungle items first came out

This was probably brought up before, unless its just me. A while back when they first introduced the new jungle items. At first I thought for sure that the picture for stalker's blade or skirmisher represented the type of damage you dealt with it. Not the type of smite. For me I feel like the gem you imbue your weapon with would signify what type of smite it gave you. After all if you have a sword you wouldn't think you'd be building a spell item out of it. Magus is the only ap item i can think of that looks nothing like what it you'd expect the item to give.

Magus should be a a magical device of some sort. And Cinderhulk could be protective looking. warrior could be trailblazer's axe and Skirmisher's Sabre could be used for devourer.

Both ways work... idk it just seemed more intuitive or the first thing that came to mind.

I guess the main problem would be being able to buy the gem first item. But then you could just have it locked until a certain time. Just like how when you first bought trinket it had a cooldown before it could be used. just put a cooldown until you can buy the gem?

or could be conditional. In order for an item to be usable to you need another item in your slot to work. Like cannot be used/purchased until you buy machete.

also maybe just doing away with gems and having smite change color could be enough. If other players look at your equipment maybe they could also see the type of smite you have... by also showing their smite summoner next to their items.

I'm not claiming I have the solution... What I have so far is just as clunky. Was just wondering if I was the only one who saw it this way. Or if you guys see can where one could be confused.
