@Meddler Naut in the current jungle

Over the last few years Nautilus has been is a rather wonky state. Constantly fluctuating between a god tier and decent top/support pick as items and champions were changed, meta's shifted and keystones were introduced.

His dominance in both roles landed him hefty nerfs to his E to reduce his wave clear, what was claimed to be the problem up top lane as well as CC duration nerfs, but his jungle was compensated a little bit with CD buffs and mana cost reductions. But damage nerfs to his W and further E damage nerfs crushed his early game jungle clear and his ability to power farm should the need arise.

He feels, like illaoi, like xin zhao and very much like renekton. Feast or famine. If I can successfully gank enough early on then I'm home free. If not then I can't even face tank

There isn't any way to buff his spells for jungle clears without directly buffing his oppressive laning performance. EG: Buffing his E dmg just reverts changes and re creates a problem. Buffing the cooldown just diminishes the whole reason they nerfed his E's dmg (more spam more waveclear, who needs dmg?)

I could see them reverting his W dmg nerf or buffing it a tad. However that will still heavily impact his power during top lane trades, especially with courage of the colossus of which he's already utilises problematically.

My solution doe? Buff his base attack damage to be on par with maokai/malphite/zac. Currently naut's base dmg 57.5 and scales to 114 which is pretty pitiful considering most of his early clear comes from his autos. Meanwhile champs with more consistent splash damage, like zac/mal have 59.7 and 62 AD respectively, hell mao has more than them all at 63.5. All of these champs also out scale naut in the AD department so it isn't a means of simply catching up.

Thus I propose: Naut base AD 57.5->60 Naut AD at lvl 18 114->120

This will indeed buff his performance across the board. However in top lane naut focuses on short trades with his shield rather than long drawn out slug fests (where more ad is valued). And down bot you'd be lucky if you're able to constantly AA the enemy ADC. Thus this buffs naut's jungle a little without any drastic changes that'd break him in lanes.

For context on his nerfs/compensation buffs >5.5 Titan's Wrath.png Titan's Wrath Damage reduced to 30 / 40 / 50 / 60 / 70 from 40 / 55 / 70 / 85 / 100 Shield health ratio increased to (+ 9 / 11 / 13 / 15 / 17% maximum health) from 7 / 9.5 / 12 / 14.5 / 17

> Riptide.png Riptide AP ratio reduced to (+ 30% AP) from (+ 50% AP) Slow duration reduced to 1.5 seconds from 2 Cooldown reduced to 7 / 6.5 / 6 / 5.5 / 5 seconds from 10 at all ranks Cost reduced to 40 / 50 / 60 / 70 / 80 from 60 / 70 / 80 / 90 / 100

> 5.13 Riptide.png Riptide Damage reduced to 60 / 95 / 130 / 165 / 200 from 60 / 100 / 140 / 180 / 220 Maximum damage reduced to 90 / 142.5 / 195 / 247.5 / 300 from 90 / 150 / 210 / 270 / 330

> V6.5 Riptide.png Riptide Damage reduced to 55 / 85 / 115 / 145 / 175 from 60 / 95 / 130 / 165 / 200 Maximum damage reduced to 110 / 170 / 230 / 290 / 350 from 120 / 190 / 260 / 330 / 400

Just my 2 cents on trying to drag the big guy back from the jungle grave. Would it be suitable? Why?/Why not?

I'd like to see a move speed buff. Nautilus travels through the jungle at snail pace. I also like the base ad buffs as well. Some little love taps for him. Great suggestions.

I think he's hurt more by mobility boot changes and the out of combat MS mastery that used to be permanent 1.5% bonus than his actual base MS. As I've never had a problem thanks to my MS quints

Movement speed reduced to 25 from 45. (mobies) cost from 800 to 900

He's so much slower in combat slowing his clear speed due to that out of combat nerf. And the price increase doesn't help much either.
