Why Did I (Gold 2 Support Main) Get A Silver 4 ADC In My Ranked Game?

I had been matched with much lower elo teammates not too long ago (but they were nice and even said they were sorry that I had been matched with them). According to op.gg, my mmr is not the issue as it is above average for my league. To make matters worse, the adc was a bit toxic and used profanity against teammates. I don't completely mind unintentional feeding, but the guy blamed me for him being 1/8 (which I chuckled when he said that xD).

My Team: Gragas- Gold 5 Rumble- Gold 5 Zed- Gold 4 Braum (me)- Gold 2 Twitch- Silver 4 (I checked his mmr, and it's "quite a bit lower than the average for his league" according to op.gg)

Enemy: Leona- Gold 5 Kennen- Gold 5 Cait- Gold 5 Galio- Silver 1 Nidalee- Gold 5

In a separate issue, I have NO IDEA how I still have this dynamic preference tag on my profile. I did duo with some others for a VERY BRIEF period like at least weeks ago, but the HEAVY majority of my ranked games have been solo. I'd estimate around 95%.

I'm not sure exactly how the matchmaking discrepancy happened, but maybe it was a long queue and it searched for players over a wider range of skill. In terms of the averages, it's not too far off, as it looks like you have a higher MMR than the rest of the players.

For the badges, the exact numbers as far as I know are that you need to have over 90% of your last 25 wins as solo in order to have the solo badge (23 out of 25 wins). If you keep playing solo you should get it back soon. Only the last 25 wins count in order to keep the badge relevant to your current rank, and the criteria is very strict to make it more of an achievement to get the solo badge. 'Preference' is a huge misnomer.

Thanks for letting me know about the badge <3 I don't remember the que being long. As a support main, my que times are pretty much instant xD

If there were others that were in dynamic q and he was paired with one of them it will relax the weighting a bit.

They have a silver player and maybe it simply pulled a silver player from that pool to even it out.

I occasionally get Silver players in my ranked games (Gold II), but it is almost always when I play with a buddy of mine who is Silver I.

Most of the time, my biggest complaint is that I am playing against plat players a bit too often. Typically I get 3-5 plat players in my games.

I thought the gold player pool was a bit bigger, but the ability to pick roles definitely shrinks options.

Edit: Yeah, it appears you got him with everyone else on your team being Solo as well. Bizarre.

Second Edit: Yeah, after looking at the twitch's stats he mostly plays with/against players that are low silver, a few in bronze, and the rare Gold V. From his perspective he got throw into a game where he was WAY out skilled. I would probably be like getting thrown into a Diamond game as a gold player.

My friend gold IV had bronzers in enemy team yesterday and went 8/2 with sona support :D
