A theory on how Velkoz is getting reworked

What if his passive's true damage is taken out and is instead replaced with an MR shredder(kinda like a black Cleaver)

Passive - For every spell hit on a target adds one stack of MR Shredder(total of 5 stacks). 1 stack = reduces 7% of targets MR for 7 seconds. Duration resets when another spell hits or Velkoz basic attacks the target.

Keep in mind Velkoz's rework is happening and Riot stated his kit will be changed as much as Cait's kit was changed. They are aiming to make vel a strategic choice.

Tell me constructively if this passive change would be acceptable or not acceptable and how drastically it would change Velkoz's gameplay.

This is actually pretty good. If it was applied on damage though, so that you can instantly shred someone with ult.

I reckon they are going to keep his passive. From some Rioter comments, that is good gameplay - a minigame that doen't feel forced.

My thoughts are as follows. Vel is fairly similar to Lux, Xerath and Ziggs. Long range poke mages with big ultimates. Of course, there are some differences. What des Vel do better than them? Kite. I reckon they might, for example, add a slow to his W (perhaps giving it a more interesting cast than "straight line" - GO GEOMETRY), lower base damages on his basic abilities and increase his passive's damage or duration to keep his overall damage the same with good aiming.

This would separate Vel from the others, as he would be a better pick against speed up type engage comps, while keeping his awesome bits - lasers, passive, geometry and did I mention GIANT FUCKING LASERS!? - at least as awesome.

I feel he needs the true damage, it's kind of what he is and it helps supplement his damage. As far as changes go though, I feel like if his w gave him movement speed like Ahri's orb, all would be well in the world of Vel'koz.
