Why does Darius' Decimate still go off even when he is stunned?

Darius' Decimate still goes off even when stunned. I think a simple way to nerf Darius would to make it so his Decimate was canceled as soon as he is stunned or silenced.

Thats how it works on most champs dude. Using your logic I could ask why does Alistar Anivia Brand DrMundo Fiora Fizz Jax Kalista Kayle Kindred Leona Lissandra Lulu Maokai MasterYi Mordekaiser Morgana Nasus Nautilus Poppy Rammus Renekton Rumble Ryze Shaco Singed Sivir Skarner Syndra Swain Taric Thresh Trundle Tryndamere Vayne Varus Vladimir MonkeyKing Yorick Zyra ults persist if you stun them right after they use it?

Thats different though, Darius continues to swing an axe, even though hes stunned, the logic just hurts me.

Anivia continues to conjure a glacial storm

Rammus continues to create an earthquake

MonkeyKing continues to spin his staff

Trundle continues to sap the life from his enemy

Swain continues to summon a flock of ravens to attack his enemies

Skarner continues to hold his opponent

Morgana continues to shackle the souls of her enemies

Brand continues to conjure fire

Maokai continues to conjure a magical vortex around him

it is a channel

Sorry, I was wrong on that one but my point still stands for the others

Hard cc only stops channeled abilities. Darius' Q is not a channeled ability. Don't be mislead by the long cast time. Cast times are not canceled by CC. Only death stops that kind of abilities

Yes.

OP probably played Sejuani and ulted Darius at the same time he ulted her. Visually, Darius is frozen in the air with his axe, he doesn't come down, but the damage is still dealt.

I'm not saying it should be changed, but thats probably why OP is saying this. Literally he is still in the air frozen and the ult continues, which doesn't really make sense, but it's a game so you can say many things don't make sense

You can say it's momentary momentum. Even in real life, If you have an axe with a 20 Kg blade and leap up in the air, no matter what theother does to you, the axe will still come down due to momentum. Also with his Q, if you give that steel header blade some momentum, it won't stop even if you want it to... It does make sense actualy. In some other spells it doesn't really make sense but it can be justified with the instantaneous momentum. It makes sense like that, when you Channel a spell/ability, you are focusing, so breaking that focus also breaks the spell. When you do something instant, like swinging a heavy axe, Leaping and striking downwards with a bigass greatsword, throwing a shuriken, throwing a heavy hook, those don't require time and have momentum that overpowers the stunning effects. Think of it this way, you are given a great sword with a blade weighing at about 6 Kg and with the crossguard, pomel and all the fittings you get to a 10kg worth of steel/bronze/wood/leather and with that blade and with your heavy armor, you run at an enemy, jump in the air and strike downward... Tell me anything that can stop that motion that you can do as a human, anything, in real life situation, tell me something that can stop the momentum that a 2 meter human with all his strength gives to that blade... Even if you shoot them in the head, if you don't move away, you will still have your head split opened... In game, thankfully the momentum breaks if you kill someone.

Logic is that it isnt a channeled ability. Leave darius alone.

Real Life Logic =/= Gameplay Logic

It's a spell, dude.

The counterplay isn't in stunning Darius, it's in getting away from the axe (which stunning him is conducive to)

If they added more counterplay by interrupting his Q when he is stunned, they would have to add power into it somewhere else such as shortening its casting time, because they were aiming for the counterplay to be in positioning, not in preventing the cast.

this is a very very very bad argument

champion balance and what an ability can and can't do should never be based on "but this other champion can do X, so why can't Y?" this is readily apparent in tons of examples; Fizz's Q, for example, will not damage the target if they flash out - however, most other targeted dashes do.

on top of that, the vast majority of your examples are incomparable to Darius' Q, and not only in the fact that they are ultimates. The ultimate Darius' Q is most comparable to is Ezreal's ult - damaging spells with lengthy cast times. Rather than compare an ability with a cast time to multiple one-and-done steroids or instant cast damaging spells, you should understand that what the OP is essentially asking for is for Darius' Q to be changed from a cast time, like Ezreal or Lux's ultimates, to a channel, like Katarina or Anivia's ultimates (btw, Anivia's ult DOES get interrupted by stuns, as a channel) which would add interesting counterplay to a champion who genuinely lacks counterplay at all stages of the game.

The same reason any cast time spells still go off. Because riot chose this.

its not a channel is a cast time

Why dont u just fucking dodge his q while hes stunned instead of crying ???

I think Darius is fine currently after the nerfs he has received in the last couple patches.

Because it is not a channel ability. Wukong's ultimate is not a channel ability either, so it can't be cancelled by external means, only the Wukong player can cancel his ult. Darius can't cancel his Q nor can his enemies.

If it was a channel ability like Malzahar's ultimate then sure.

If we made that change go through his teamfighting would be gutted

It's a cast time, not a channel.

Darius is worthless. The only thing that needs to get away is the movespeed buff or the heal.
