Hey support players:
You don't always have to use your buffs/protection on your adc. For example, if I am 6/1/6 with 200 cs as annie mid and the adc is 2/5/1 with 140 cs, I will prefer if you use your shields/buffs on me.

In general, you'd want to protect the person with the highest damage over time. AD's even in that situation deal better long-term damage considering that the one shield isn't going to give you ~6 seconds for a second rotation of your spells.
But you're probably silver, so I guess in your rank your AD's won't outdps burst champions.
Everyone wants the buffs, I'll use them where they're needed. Sometimes that's to help ensure the person carrying actually can continue to do so, other times it's to just try to save the bonobo from themselves.
Once had a shitty ADC threaten to AFK because I didn't Zil ult her. She tickled the enemy team, while our Darius could practically 1v3. So obviously I ulted him. OP's message goes both ways to be honest. ADCs are not entitled to buffs.
They do so because their buffs/protection synergize better with adcs rather than midlaners. Like janna shield gives more AD, which mid laners don't need unless their AD, and a lulu shield gives more DPS on their auto attacks, which most midlaners also do not use either. I think this a problem rito needs to address, as the only "buffing" support style champions that help mid laners and ADCs equally are Taric and Zilean.
