so why can akail 100-0 with just a hextex revolver

Rustling Bush··4 votes·1,264 views

why, its frustrating to play against a akail that just triple, qudra my team alone just because we lack hard cc. most hard cc comes in the form of skill shots regardless which makes it kind of hard to aim it when she dashing around 1 shotting everyone. i remember playing with akail 4v5 and we won because she would just go in and kill half the team, even she knew how much bs her damage was.

rarely see annie mid, rarely see tf mid. im not talking rank, when you know your playing against akail and have the option to counter pick, i'm just talking about in normal soloque

their still the matter of cc in her shroud, you put one down and she easily can escape regardless unless you immideatly cc her or have a gapcloser. and when she does get away its just 70 gold down the toilet, ive use plenty pinks against her and she always escapes or just all in and 100-0 roflstomp. as for red trinket i think i should take that if i do see a akail. also why does everyone talk about her w, i know her w has a counter but thats hardly the issue, the issue is that she is 100-0ing people in the blink of a eye with just one item.

oh you mean build magic resist first and have absolutely no dmg so she can face roll us, or build mr later so she can face roll us. a bruiser proably has the choice to build early armor/mr but for most others thats not much of a viable option against akail or really any champion that can just dominate you.

Thank you for proving you actually don't understand how the game works.

In the early game, defense out-scales offense. And everyone has options for defense. A Marksman can choose between Maw of Malmortius or Mercurial Scimitar just from picking up Null-magic Mantle. One grants 80 AD and the ability to cleanse every debuff in the game, while the other grants 60-95 AD and has a bonus magic blocking shield that is especially helpful since it pops at the same time that you hit the maximum bonus AD.

And if you're trying to tell me a support can't afford defense, just get out. Now.

Annie is Akali's hard counter, as is Lee Sin. Twisted Fate's ult and Twin Shadows will reveal invisibility. Up'd Sweeping Lens is your best bet, since yes she will run from ward vision. Grievous Wounds is a must-have to reduce her spellvamp.

JustMyBassCannon3 votes

Because you stood in her shroud for way too long and neither you nor anyone nearby thought of buying stealth detection.

Hextech Revolver doesn't make Akali a monster. Noobs near Akali make her a monster.

Akali's base combo is (I almost have this memorized from all the Akali complain threads...) 640(+1.7AP)(+1.6AD). I'll add in the damage part of her passive post gunblade, at level 18. With Gunblade, Akali has 45 AD + 65 AP, and an active that does 150 (+.4AP). Her base combo at this point is 790(+2.1AP)(+1.6AD). At level 18, she will have 158 AD post gunblade and 65 AP. This makes her passive 17% of her AD is added as bonus magic damage to her autos; this ends up being 27 damage.

This makes Akali's full combo (assuming you didn't wait in her shroud for her cooldowns to come up, right?) do 817 (+136.5)(+252.2), which rounds to 1206 mixed damage. The lowest health a level 18 champion can have is 1645; this is mini Gnar. Even using that, there is NO way an Akali could 100-0 ANYONE with just a hextech gunblade.

Also, I know you said revolver. I just figured you'd realize that only adds 84 damage to her level 18 combo and isn't going to make her a powerhouse.

Because people don't buy MR and she is an assassin ?

Hextech gunblade (built from revolver) gives akali the best of both worlds. As an akali player myself (Whos gotten 40/8 without Hextech [Not bragging],) gunblade gives her AD which assists her "E", but also AP which helps everything else. This AP is also stacked onto her passive as well as Spell Vamp. This leads me into the next part, the spell vamp. Her passive already gives Akali a nice amount of Vamp, but Gunblade just assists it further. In short, Hextech revolver (or Gunblade) aids everything vital in Akali that allows her to dominate.

NorthernDruid1 votes

Akali gets slighty above a third (13%) of her spellvamp from her passive. the main 20% is from the gunblade itself (or WotA if you destroy her passive to the point where she'd rather have the CDR).

Townsa1 votes

So what's your point?

Beerstein1 votes

TBH I've had teams dropping pink wards every time but once she's fed she can be super hard to counter since she has mixed damage and a lot of hard CC takes time to reach its target. Less tanky champs really can't itemize to stop her very well without sacrificing almost all of their damage. Best bet is to try not to let her get fed and actually protect your squishies.

Leblancs Boob1 votes

My only problem with Akali is how easily she is able to pick off her targets. Literally all of her damage is point-and-click with massive amounts of gap closers. If it was possible to outplay her then she would be balanced imo.

Keevalroy2 votes

Only it IS possible...

NorthernDruid1 votes

Correction, her E isn't point-and-click.

It's literally just click.

Help me spread the word, and educate people about how much of a problem that skill is. Because all it brings to her kit is more unavoidable damage.

JustMyBassCannon2 votes

You mean like Darius' Q, except shorter range, less damage and overall less threatening, especially since they're planning on removing its ability to proc marks?

NorthernDruid1 votes

Basically, and do not misunderstand me, I do not think it's an overpowered ability. I think it's an ability which adds nothing to her kit. Because if it did anything useful other than proc damage it would be too much unavoidable stuff.

It's already really powerful in and of itself because it can proc spellvamp off an entire minion wave (so the bigger the wave you've built aganist her the more she can susain).

I'd love to see it remade as a short-ranged wide cone, with some added utility to it. Meaningful utility that she has to manage when she wants to use as well as aim when she actually uses it.

It would be harder to hit a bunch of people all clustered together with it at least.

JustMyBassCannon3 votes

It would be nice if it served a purpose other than damage. I mean, it's important for an assassin to deal damage, but since it deals so little damage, why not make it a utility spell instead?

I see your point.

NorthernDruid1 votes

Excactly, and if you had to somehow aim it, and hitting it correctly is the difference between getting the kill and not, people might stop complaining about Akali being such an easy champion.

JustMyBassCannon1 votes

In the same world where they'll complain that Zed, Syndra and Orianna are too easy, I don't think Akali will be left alone in that regard.

I'm with op. About twenty games ago I was Kat vs Akali. Got two kills up in her, roamed bit and picked up a couple more. Made an aby sceptar and our supp rushed aegis. At some point after getting shit on Akali had solely a gunblade and basically out ball-of-stats'd me when I was 75% and she was 50%. I had aby/scorcs and two levels on her. She had a htgb...

Still won cuz she was bad though.

NorthernDruid1 votes

Kill her? don't let her unleash her full combo on you (2 rotations of her abilities)? Don't let her get so ahead she can 100-0 you in one short combo?

Buy early MR or Health? Purposely pick a champ with good CC and counterburst? Even if your hard CC is a skillshot (Like Morgana's Dark Binding) she's got to get into melee range to do anything but poke you, and she'll signal it quite damn hard when she's about to so you should have a good idea of when to be ready to fire it off. Then when you've CC'd her, you unleash your own burst and walk back to your tower.

Or you can pick a heavy poke champion and poke her away from early CS.

Or push the wave and force her to CC under the tower while you run off to gank other lanes.

If you let her get so far ahead of you that she can instagib you that easily, then you're either letting her get away with too much in lane, or your matchup is horrible.

Akali has pretty clear weaknesses, so if you want to guard against her you pick a champ which can exploit those weaknesses. Or you focus on how your pick can do something, and how building stuff you wouldn't against a champion you're not weak against can impact oyur performance.

Of all the things people cry about with Akali I never see anyone pick on the things that are actually kind of overloaded on her kit, namely the spammability of her ult and the non-interactiveness of her E.

I guess she can 100-0 a level 4 squishy ass adc (no dorans) at lvl 6 with hextech... other than that she would need some void staff and/or sorc boots. OR more than 1 rounds of combo to 100-0 anyone

yeah i kind of mispoke when i said 100-0 what i meant to say is that she unleash 2 rounds on me and killed me before i had time to react.
