PSA: When the enemy team has divers, you should peel for carries

Last game was a prime example of what happens when one team peels for carries and the other doesn't. Now, here's the composition of each team. Team A: Annie Shaco Viktor Vayne Janna

Team B: Poppy Khazix Leblanc Jinx TahmKench

Now as can be seen, both teams have members which can make the lives of the carries a living hell. The difference is, when you peel/protect those carries, they can actually do their job.

When Team A decided to focus on peeling for Vayne, she was allowed to carry the game through damage. However, Viktor was usually left behind so he quickly got deleted by Kha'zix or Leblanc.

When Team A decided to focus solely on diving and trying to kill leaving both Jinx and Leblanc without protection, letting them die quite quickly.

The standard fight would go as follows: Tahm starts his ult to take him and Kha into the enemy backline, meanwihle the enemies notice this and jump straight towards leblanc and jinx. Leblanc has the mobility to escape while jinx does not, and she is either 3-shot by an ulted Vayne or bursted by Viktor.

Post-game, Jinx is flamed for having multiple deaths and very little damage, despite her dying from high burst and stealthed champions (Vayne and Shaco) with little time to react, and no protection from allies.

Moral of the story, the carries on team A received peel while team B did not, and that was evident based on how well the carries could, well, carry.

Well there is also the point that annie and janna are both god tier counter engage champs. Team A simply had the superior team comp, it wasn't an issue of lack of peel on one.

Another important lesson is to have some sort of hard engage on your team. Poppy's E-R was team B's best engage (and situationally TK's ult), and that's still not great.

TK ult is just a horrible team fight engage tool.. It creates a temporary 3v5 (or a 2v5 if the other team turns around) Really tricky to do right and requires a lot of co-ordination to pull off. Especially vs Janna who can pretty much prevent the guys on the other side from joining the fight in time.

Then again, team B has so limited/conditional cc options so i doubt they coulda done much even in a 5v5.

Been playing Draven, good reminder that squishy marksmen NEED peel from everyone.

Protect them as if they are your children.

Unless they suck

Especially if they suck?

No because then they'll be useless and fed instead of useless and someone else on the team is fed.

As an ADC main I approve this story.

And aatrox gets peeled off the carries before he even reaches them :^]

It's ironic because looking just at the team comps, it looks like Team A is the one that would be lacking in frontline and carry protection, while Team B has Poppy and Tahm Kench.

But I guess that proves that it isn't enough to pick Tahm Kench, you also have to use him to keep your Jinx alive.

Unless I'm playing support or some kind of tank (which I never really do), screw my carries. I don't care if they're good, bad, or average, unless protecting them is absolutely necessary to win, I'm not going to.

I primarily play Divers and juggernaut like characters, the amount of CC I have is negligible at best, so I'd rather use my damage advantage to pressure the enemy carries or even tanks if the moment arises.

Fact is, I owe you squishy mid and bot laners nothing, I'm playing this game for me, I'm trying to climb for me, not for you. Unless you are my friend who I know can do well, don't expect my protection, just like I don't expect yours or your damage. My success or failures will be my own, not yours.

and that is why you lose. if you playing a low cc but heavy damage melee champion say like darius. instead of getting your ass kited for days why dont you hit the fking guys chasing your squishies an get your 5 stacks up and then ravage the entire enemy team with your ball of stats champion. i never understood this. why people refuse to help their carrys and go off chasing the enemy squishies when easiest way to get to the enemy team carry is kill the shit in your way first. 90% of braindead melee champions will charge straight for a squishy in the middle of a heavy cc mage and or janna or heavy cc peeling support with tons of actives to protect that said squishy get kited and die. when they coulda hug back with their team helped with enemy frontline then rushed down the enemy squishy with a numbers advantage. esp if you go after some shit like vayne/ezreal lol.

But you do not get an S for peeling, when I want to get an S I play poorly diving like an idiot to get dem kills and leave my adc to die. When I want to win however I do peel.

On the other hand, said carries should also stick with their team and not wander off by themselves. Or at least, not complain that their opponents are OP/their team is dumb when they inevitably die as a result.

"omg league sux its always an adc meta cuz u hav to peal for them xdddddd"

If anything even mages and assassins need peels sometimes. One extra helping hand could save their lives.
