Why not give Kassadin MR/level?

He's an anti-mage with no magic resistance. Several assassins have scaling MR including Zed and Talon, this would be a decent buff to Kassadin so he's not a worthless laner while also not making him into the pre-nerf killing machine that he once was.

Edit: Yes I'm aware his passive gives his magic damage reduction or else I wouldn't have made a thread on him. His passive basically gives him that ~25 MR that other champions have simply in their base stats. My point is that he's wasting a passive to be an anti-mage and yet he's no more of an anti-mage than other champions with scaling MR.

"Kassadin perpetually ignores unit collision and takes 15% less magic damage."

maybe it has something to do with his passive

Without scaling MR his passive is just a waste of space. It gives him that ~25 MR other champions have but takes up an entire passive to do so.

His passive is his passive. Every champion has one, but why does Zed for example, have a free Kassadin passive (Since of course he has base MR) and also his own unique passive.

For being an anti-mage-mage, it feels like Veigar fits into that role better.

and his passive is still better than the mr scaling than every non-tank champion

Not by a noticeable amount. It just feels like Kassadin gets the shorter end of the stick. Champions with base MR may be SLIGHTLY less tanky than Kassadin is, but at least their passive does something.

His passive is pretty much mr per level at lvl 18

because his passive. he supposed be a good pick against mages not to be imune to it

It's the combo of his passive AND that he has a Q which already blocks magic damage and is typically the "Rank First" ability which gets up to 160 shield before AP.

He is getting larger magic damage shield for building offensive.

By not having a MR scaling on him it makes it possible for mages to HURT him. And if he wants to he can itemize into some basic MR to make his q shield have more ompft but as it stands now he would probably have to take a massive Q shield nerf if he got MR per level.

i don't see a huge reason to make it easier for kass to survive lane he has a strong late game and part of being a good kass player is getting through lane intact. also when a champions identity is "anti-something" they should be used as counter picks, thriving in the right matchups and floundering in the wrong ones.
