Open CounterPLAY windows vs Nocturne as a squishy please

  • NOT counterPicking (e.g. a mobile champion)
  • NOT counterBuying (e.g. rushing a banshee's veil or QSS early and sacrificing 40 AD only to fall off quickly and still blow up)
  • CounterPLAY: like maybe allowing only a small area around his target to help the victim. Reduce his attack speed. Or remove the free spellshield/fear from his kit, in which case you may as well rework him, because when you can build full AD, nuke the carry in LITERALLY half a second and walk out before the ult's over, there's something wrong with the champ.

I see the Nocturne mains have come out. Here:

Duskblade: UNIQUE – NIGHTSTALKER: After being unseen for at least 1 second, your next basic attack deals 50 + (200% Lethality) bonus true damage on-hit (lasts 4 seconds after being seen by an enemy champion)

So IMPLYING your team has exhaust up every team fight, an invincibility spell, or otherwise having a Braum or Morgana sit next to you throughout the entire duration of a skirmish, you're otherwise dead. Easy. There is NOTHING balanced about this character with this item alone. I can't do much when he gets a free Rage passive with his E, translating to a lot of movement speed making it impossible to escape the tether unless I have flash up and some other escape

Professional environment, maybe not as much of a problem. In solo queue, this champ looks like freelo on a popsicle stick.

Counterbuying is perfectly acceptable -every single god dam Dota player Jokes aside Noctourne isnt that strong hes a super feast or famine charcter that either dives the enemy MVP and murders them or dives the enemy MVP and gets torn asunder Hecarim is basically a better Noctourne useful while behind to some extent (Very LIMITED extent, but some extent still) tankier, and deals more burst (sustained dmg isnt that good for divers like noc) Vi is also a better pick then Noctourne, less famine still good at feasting +hellva lot more burst that is harder to escape Lee is also better since he can gank better ealier and his ganks argueably become even better then noc post 6 but hes super fucking hard to play at high elos

Counterplay:

  • Group to prevent picks.
  • Control vision (track him, deny him vision)
  • Have allies help peel him off you

Unless you have a Kayle who will ult you first thing, grouping made 0 difference. Team can't help what they can't see or target. This isn't a pro environment where 9/10 the support will mikael's himself or something and toss me a 300 pt shield in an instant. I wasn't exaggerating about the speed.

If you are within an ally's vision radius, they can't still see you during Nocturne's ultimate.

If you are grouped, you are usually within their vision radius so they can respond.

Even if you die, you can easily turn it into a 1-for-1 trade. However, the chance you will die is significantly less when grouped than it would be if you were caught out alone.

Staying near your support is especially important since they generally have Exhaust, hard-CC and shields.

how do you want to reduce his attack speed if you dont want to know how to counter build against his kit?

Lock On2 votes

So he would be forced to buy more attack speed as well -> less dmg or more costly buildpaths -> scale less quickly -> not snowball the game to ridiculousness while remaining very relevant late game. Also gives us a bit of extra time to mitigate some of the damage with the few autos I can throw before I'm feared so my team can help me.

oSEXYPLATYPUSo1 votes

well if you want to REDUCE his damage out put....

you have to COUNTER BUILD.

pick champs that COUNTER HIS KIT

Build a single defensive item.

What's the counterplay for ADCs? Building either damage or defense.

TyrekGoldenspear1 votes

You honestly can't expect too much counterplay mate.

Nocturne is a Diver.

His literal job description is to murder a squishy's face off.

He is an ADC's counterpick, and his kit serves as counterplay to an ADC.

You sound like that miss fortune I obliterated yestserday with ad noc.

You can't hide from darkness : my blue trinket will find you when u are alone and scared and I will rip you apart.

If you're a mage/AP assassin you can get hourglass, an item literally intended to be used against highly mobile and bursty threats. AD assassins are mobile enough that they either wont look very appealing for nocturne to jump on and if he still does they all have enough mobility that they should be fine. When it comes to ADC's, he cant outplay their damage, why should they be able to outplay his?

Also in the class that has Vi, Pantheon, Hecarim, Lee Sin, and Irelia, your problem is with Nocturne.
