Long post here.

So I make a perfect counterpick at top, (Thresh vs, xin zhao. Since I have the experience to react with flay and take no damage and win every trade) then this random guy calls me wrong and whines for a whole 3 mins in pickscreen, while others approve of my creativity. Then I look at his winrates and its zero percent on zyra support on FIVE matches with constant 2/7/6 overall and he still picks it. ...like what is wrong with you. If you cant even win with "meta" picks I dont get why you are insulting me for it, because youre obviously going to stay in this elo with that zyra pick while I rise with my good pick.

By the way, I dodged the match. Persistantly picking a champion you CANT win with, and hoping to get a win is pretty much the same as trolling.

People are retarded.

The most vocal people who complain about a pick are also the most likely to feed.

These are people who lack the ability to critically think, "Hmm maybe even though this champ isn't commonly played here, they can counter x with y, etc etc". They are more likely thinking "PICK THRESH TOP. THESH TOP BAD. THRESH BAD. I FLAME THRESH KK."

Many people who play this game are complete and absolute morons, so this isn't very surprising.

I used to care about what champions people picked. But I've long since stopped because picking a champion you're good at is far more important than picking to meet team comp or counters. Thresh top? Ok maybe he's REALLY good at Thresh. I've had enough games (Plat / Diamond level) where people pick really strange champions for their role and end up dominating that I usually give them the benefit of the doubt.

That said, if you go something like Thresh top and then go 0/11/2 and cost us the game, then yeah I'll be thinking "guess what, there's a reason why Thresh top isn't a thing, thanks for ruining our game." Usually I won't say anything though.

That said, the odds of some random person discovering a new off-meta super champ are low. It's often best to leave that to the Korean pro players who spend 20 hours a day trying to find these things.

Because it's not just about your lane and the game consists of more than your thresh going against Xin in isolation. If the other team is reasonably competent, well they are going to make your thresh in the top lane suffer.

Some champs take a bit to learn how to play. Not always because they are mechanically complex but sometimes for outside reasons. Like TF. I had to essentially Int Feed like 4 games before I understood my limits in lane. Now i am pretty consistent on him but i still had to have those really bad matches.

The zyra player was probably new to zyra and didnt fully understand zyra yet.
