I Gifted A Mystery Skin To A Complete Stranger Last Night

Dang that felt good.

Thank you Riot for adding that feature! I never thought I would use it but last night I had some extra RP after buying Project Lucian and I was playing him in a ranked game. We did just fine bot but the enemy Master Yi got fed from top, mid, and jungle and when he started showing bot he insta-killed me time and time again. It was one of those rough games where you just can never get a kill and it gets harder and harder to be the carry your team needs.

Amazingly, my team never flamed me for having a negative KDA and I was able to farm up free lanes to keep myself relevant. Our mid-lane Irelia was very supportive and kept positive and worked with me to set up some kills and focus on much needed objectives. Slowly we started to come back and capitalize on the enemy team's mistakes. Finally, low and behold, we got a really good fight and pushed for the win.

I was so blown away and really appreciative of our Irelia who not once complained that I was "feeding". Instead she kept focused, didn't flame me, and was decisive as she carried as best she could. I was ready to honor her in the post game screen but I saw that little "gift" button and decided she has earned it. She ended up getting Pumpkin Head Fiddlesticks which I thought was really cool. They then added me and we are going to duo together sometime.

So again thanks so much Riot for that gift feature. Never thought I would use it except for my friends but last night showed me why its a great addition.

Moral Of The Story: Don't flame your team. People have bad games. Stay positive and play the best that you can. You may not always win but when you do it makes it just that much sweeter. Plus you might get a sweet gift for carrying a noob like me ;)

I've been gifted 2 skins in my time playing this game. One was a Bard game where I went like. 3/1/42 or some nonsense over the course of about as perfect a bard performance as I think i can do.

Guy got his promotion and bought everyone in the game mystery skins because he got promoted and we all fed him a fountain kill penta at the end.

The other was a game where 2 diamond bot laners just had a bad game. like. 0/12 start between the two of them, complete feed. No one got angry, not one pointed fingers. But i left the top laner in ruin as Darius and we rode my mid-game to victory in a snowball that wasn't stopped.

the ADC player offered to buy me a skin for the carry, and I got a woad Darius for my trouble.

Work with your team and fight hard... good things will come to you.

I love having the option. One guy on my list was a badass Braum and carried me, so I bought him the El Tigre skin. Another was an excellent soraka, always there to heal me and my teammates so I got him order of the banana soraka, and demonlisher nunu for the nunu in that same game. =P Nearly bought an Udyr spirit guard Udyr but decided against it. I am not made of money. =P Anyway, it always feels good to send someone a little something, whether they react to it or not. It's simply more fun when they go "omgwtfbbqthx"

Is there no way to see who gifted you, though? I got a gift the other day I clicked through and didn't get to see who sent it.

When I was playing Ranked, last pick said I'll adc even though I am very bad at it, but I wanted to adc and I was 3rd pick. I said I'll adc, you can play support, or if somebody wants to swap. She instalocked Katarina and started trolling me before minions spawned. Luckily we had a morg mid so morf went bot lane, and katarina took mid. About 13 minutes in Katarina started talking in chat after "muting me" She said she felt very bad for trolling, and was gifting me mystery skin after game. She did :)

I was playing ranked once and ended up as ADC and apparently I was not supposed to adc that game, but conveniently enough my support was a diamond support main and he carried me hella hard through laning phase. Gifted him Alien Invader Heimer ;p

Only trash players even care about KDA for that game. Good players only want you to carry your own weight and not make stupid mistakes like trying to 1v1 the 20/2 rengar even if you feed you can still impact the game pretty hard

I must admit that I have never seen this feature used (e.g. never saw someone talking about getting one in the post-game lobby.)

Then again, I don't tend to see many overly positive players, either...

WTF I've been nice to all the retards in my team but they're too fucking stupid to realize it while they're feeding like trash bronze noobs and building like shit. I carry them and don't flame their shitty sorry asses ever, not once and those god damn ungrateful bastards are too much of a morons to acknowledge it and give me free skins cause I deserve it.

I bought a skin boost for my team before. Everybody in champ select said "thanks!"

During the game they proceeded to being some of the most toxic people I've played with. Sure it wasn't much RP- but that experience totally soured me on getting anything for random players again

I feel the same as you. I commonly drop money into league (and there isn't much left I don't own) so I end up giving away stuff after games a lot.

I gave a guy who was a really good Darius player and a really chill guy as well Dunkmaster Darius.

I don't usually give out skins, but when the really good examples of how the community should act appear, I feel like it needs to be rewarded.

Once a guy in the enemy team harrasedme all game, i reported for harrasment, then he send me a mystery gift, he was motivated by guilt ofcourse. the funny part was when he addedme expecting Gratification!!. i was like wtf is wrong with this dude.
