You are no longer an “immobile” champion.

Okay. So all you top laners crying about protobelt giving vlad mobility need to fuck off then.

no one cares about that item, his fundamental design is what is bullshit. point and click sustain anyone? untargettability? how about aoe sustain? all fun ideas in 2019

Sustain in the top lane? Hmmmmm. Aatrox DrMundo Chogath (if he’s even a top laner anymore) Garen Gangplank Kayle Mordekaiser Nasus Olaf Renekton Singed Swain Tryndamere Yorick

Yet somehow vlad having sustain is a problem? Also. He doesn’t have aoe sustain. His w nor his e heal him. I guess his ult does. But he has to hit multiple people with a short range spell you should all know is coming.

Untargetability. You also have access to that with stopwatch. Something most top laners also build so, I fail to see that issue as well.

Bro list all the things vlad has on his kit. you will not find even one of the champions you've listed having even close to the same combination as him. I don't care about sustain, anyone can have sustain, it's when that sustain is granted on a point and click offensive ability that you run into problems. it's like a shield that does dmg, Diana balance history for that one.

vlad's R btw. aoe sustain. and it's a dmg amp so his sustain on his Q is larger. and it does aoe dmg lol. his W is his fizz tool. and frankly his E could be anything and the champion would still work.

also go back to my first post about effects being gated behind items. this isn't a stopwatch thread, or an item thread, and you don't get to turn it into that because it's fundamentally an incorrect way to approach champion discussion. does anything you've listed become untargettable all on its own without having to buy anything from the store? no? does it need a gunblade to unlock point and click sustain?

if you have to point to ultimates that can do the thing then that's your dilemma right there. cho can point and click sustain but he has to press R. camille can become untargettable but she has to press R...doesn't even last as long as vlad's lol. none have an aoe sustain option unless it's gated by needing to kill something or alternatively it does no dmg as an ability. vlad is a very special champion lol, you can't just be running in here comparing him with these squares.

oh he also has no resource.

if your mobility is item gated then your champion isn't mobile.

The point trying to be made here is that any champion can effectively become "mobile", and thus that the items need to be retuned. If you can completely negate the one glaring weakness your champion has through items, thereby making him impossible to counterplay without hard CC, something is wrong.

nah not at all, otherwise everyone would build protobelt on anivia and become "mobile"

Running at 700 MS for 2 seconds vs having a blink or dash. One of those is better than the other and doesn't require items and is on a smaller CD.

There's solid movement speed even without everything being up. Building only half these mobility items, I can achieve >550 constant or near-constant movement speed on several champions that aren't Janna (Nidalee, Qiyana, Nami...) and that's quite a lot of speed.

Stephenizgod1 votes

That isn't turning an immobile champ into a mobile champ though. Movement Speed is one of the weakest forms of Mobility, and you have to rely on items to obtain high enough MS for it to actually make a considerable difference. Even then, mobile champions can also build these items (you named 2) which further widens the gap between immobile and mobile champions.

Movement speed has its uses but it doesn't threaten Mobile champions until it reaches speeds like Hecarim and Rammus can reach, even then hard CC counters MS where Blinks, Jumps/Dashes, and teleports can be used to negate or weaken hard CC.

Because if you get hit by a slow by any of the 110 out of the 145 champions in the game that naturally have them in their kit, you are then slowed to a crawl and poked out because of it. Mobility means having flashes and dashes in their kit to break the gap that ranged have over melee and having an MS increase that only stops a slow currently on them isn't mobility.

No. Mobility means an increase to your champions ability to get from point a to point b. And guess what movement speed does? That’s right.

Also. Range slows are almost always a 30% slow. So cool. He has 490 ms. That’s still 100+ more than you. In the end. They are still going to catch you. Because these aren’t short duration boosts.

Ragnaveil1 votes

Riot's own classification of mobility is blinks and dashes, along with any type of mobility that functions like the two listed. Speed boosts like Garen Q do not count as mobility. It is a movement enhancer (something they should add as a classification). Other examples are Rammus Q (although the amount does counter immobility, it is not up predominantly as it is gated by cooldown), Phage passive, Fiora Passive, Kayn E, Yorick E, Trundle W, Twitch Q, etc.

Also, there are plenty of range champs that have more than 30% slows. And some of those champs also happen to have movement enhancers, which counteracts the lack of mobility when paired with slows. However, being slowed counters movement enhancers if you are the one being slowed while using the enhancer.

Its a complicated sentence, so in short:** If you possess both an enhancer and a slow, you can shore up your lack of mobility. Having an enhancer and being slowed does not counter/shore up your mobility problem.** Darius, despite having the ability of getting mobility enhances (Ghost, Phage), is still susceptible to being kited, especially if he gets slowed constantly and/or hard.

I’ll say it one more time. 700ms is not kiteable.

Your argument is saying you should Be able to kite a rhaast (my main) when he has his e, his black cleaver and his deadman’s. I can say with confidence, with or without my ult, I do not get kited on him. Unless a fucking nautilus, or a Leona or something is just chain stunning me.

No, he has both a dash AND a flash in his kit, Garen only has a single MS increase.

Ragnaveil1 votes

Correct. (just gonna word it better so people understand better, hope you dont mind) While Garen's Q gives him movespeed like Hec's E, Hec's E has him ram (similar to Ekko just E-blinking to a target) into the target while Garen just thematically leaps in the air and comes down with the strike. He never mechanically leaps, it is just there for thematics. If they changed it so his Q acted like Warwick's Q or Hec E, then yes, it would be a mobility spell.

As for the whole mobility thing, if you lack a spell that gives you the ability to instantly close the gap, you are immobile. That is how Riot treats it.

Exactly this.

Hotarµ5 votes

Because a limited (or constant) item gated movement speed isn't a substitute for immediate, rapid movement.

Ragnaveil5 votes

Considering your argument is of items, then no they are still immobile. Very few MS boosts on kits shore up "immobility".

DuskDaUmbreon4 votes

If your champion can, yes.

Do note, however, that the items available to them and the champion are not the same thing.

Every champion who’s build has item 3742 item 3071 / item 3078 and item 3800 in it.

boricCentaur14 votes

Nope. Everyone building those will still be immobile. A adc can still easily kit a darius or nasus. Mages will just cc them to death anyways.

Like have you actually played with those items or done some math with them?

By themselves? Generally speaking this is the case, yes, but ADCs are not meant to be capable of dealing with juggernauts solo in most cases.

You don’t. This guy is one of those “juggernauts are all perfect champions” people.

Hi im 121 votes

I mean if you're a trist or ezreal you can kinda do it but other than that you're fucked

Eonslegacy1 votes

You can get him off of you AFTER he gets to you, but by then its to late with new garen. Thats about it.

boricCentaur13 votes

Are you trolling? Like its not hard. You just do it he isn't fast like all those items do is get them close but that's it. Like garen still isn't fast enough to catch adcs like go and play the fucking game.

Also love that you list garen one of the only juggernauts with a ms buff showing you are just cherry picking.

Hi im 121 votes

I like how you edited the garen part out of your original comment because you realized how stupid it is :)

all those items do is get them close but that's it

if you think the new garen isn't blowing the adc up during his silence you're more delusional than I thought.

Also love that you list garen one of the only juggernauts with a ms buff showing you are just cherry picking.

well you said adcs could kite him, which they cannot, you also said they can kite a darius with these items which they can so I have nothing to say about that, telling you're wrong on one thing when 1/3 things you said is wrong isn't cherry picking mate.

boricCentaur11 votes

Guy you clearly do play the game at all. Like one I never edited my post so I don't wtf you're talking about.

Garen isn't doing that again fucking go and actually play since he isn't. I have friends that played and I have seen it and I went into practice he doesn't even get to 700 ms with q up and I tested how long take takes him to walk with that ms and basically every adc can kit that since it's too short it's a gap closer nothing else.

Hi im 122 votes

you literally one shoot the adc when you touch em, all you have to do is close the gap lmao, also if you actually think most adcs can just not let him get near you at all with that you're delusional as fuck buddy

You have fucking PD a item garen will never build. Your so full of bs. Like I it you don't play lol at all. Going by the fact you have no games played I'm going to say this is true.

Also garen will never oneshot anyone with that build either showing how little you know about lol.

Can you stop with this bs. Just say your wrong since so far you had to lie and give bs reasons.

He just built it. He literally just built it. I'd build it on Garen too. Gimmick builds are always better than standard builds when the damage is this high.

Hi im 121 votes

PD is not a gimmick build though, its literally meta

Hi im 121 votes

idk wtf you're talking about PD is literally core on garen https://u.gg/lol/champions/garen/build

Going by the fact you have no games played I'm going to say this is true.

I have plenty of games played on plenty of accounts, I also have many more games on garen than you do so idk fam

Ragnaveil3 votes

Heres my thing on that: Why would he build it? He gains nothing from the mana in the item, and would be better off running ghost + deadmans.

Hi im 121 votes

he wouldn't build it, the argument was about a hypothetical situation that would never happen outside of bronze.
