why does pykes ult work vs malphite?

here i thought it does physical damage only if within threshold its execute. if its true damage why cant it just say its true damage altogether instead of pulling a "HEY IM PHYSICAL DAMAGE IF I MISS" yet in the threshold zone its true damage.

they should stop masking the its physical part and confess its in reality true damage.

It deals physical damage to everyone but if the target is under the hp threshold, then it deals true damage to that target and physical to others who have health above the threshold. It's easy to understand and doesn't need any changes there.

Explain how a fed Pyle can reach over 700 execution amount does that mean regardless of armor amount it's useless? Your saying if I have infinity plus one armor it still goes through? Like I said it might as well be true damage instead.

That's pretty much the base damage on his ult at later levels. He can get his ult damage to well over a thousand and over 2000 with a cheesy build. I know, it's broken af.

No your armor is not useless. Your armor becomes irrelevant if your health drops low enough and your armor makes it harder for your health to fall that low, which means the armor is still useful. If the damage was straight up true damage, it would be used as a massive aoe ability at the start of the fight instead of as an execution because it would offer more value that way by ending the fight before it begins. Now that it's physical damage (and it actually does 50% of the ult damage if the target is above the health threshold), the damage above the threshold is very low.

theres a cheese build thats practical for pyke to use to obtain "over 9000!!!" build on ult?

True Damage =/= Execution

True Damage is applying damage that ignores Armor & Magic Resist, HP is neglected here (healthy or not, condition stays the same). Execution is damage that ALWAYS kills the target no matter what, unless there's circumstances like being able to QSS out of Urgot's ult pull.

Pyke's ult deals physical damage if the target is still healthy & not below the HP threshold of being able to execute. Nothing about his ult says it deals True Damage.
