Yasuo top ?
As early as a few months ago, Yasuo could only have been found in the mid lane. Fast forward to today and Yasuo is top more than mid. Why did Yasuo top become so popular all of a sudden ?

He has no resources, which makes farming indefinitely in lane easy. And, with his passive and Doran's Blade, he has plenty of sustain to tango with most other top laners.

Apart from bugfixes, Yasuo has been unchanged since early Season 5 yet Yasuo top only became popular in the last few months. While it might be true what you say, it's not the reason he starting going top more than mid. This could have happened in Season 5 but it didn't.
Because Yasuo mid is a trollpick and can be easily countered and Yasuo players are usually fanatics that spam the same champion every game... If you can't go mid where do you go? Jungle - you will barely clear, bad ganks, easy target for invades? Bot - too tricky - you need a godlike support and still you will probably miss some CS. And there is only 1 lane left. Yasuo can bully most melee champions lvl 1 to 3 and cheese some kills. After lvl 6 you will start feeding vs most toplaners, so it's the best time to roam and help your team, snowballing the game.
no
because of
, mainly. this allowed yasuo to be able to stand up to more top laners due to the dueling power that it gives. people also started to build him tankier as well, making him a better fit for top lane than mid lane.

Makes sense. Every Yasuo I come across in my games rush this now. They used to rush
but not anymore. Did some streamer or pro popularize this ? I'm not willing to believe that this was improvised in low elo or among casual players.
yes. there is a popular french twitch streamer named ArKaDaTa, who is considered the best yasuo in EU. he's the one who made
and yasuo top a thing, along with the infamous tank yasuo build. there is also a subreddit called r/yasuomains where, as you can guess, yasuomains discuss builds and strategies and whatnot related to yasuo, who also contributed to making this popular.
but what really made it known to everyone else was redmercy. redmercy helped popularize the builds through his videos.
Like others say, because you can go
into crit and just destroy everything. If you grab Warlord's Bloodlust, almost nothing can duel you.
It's much safer and the items/keystones support him better there.
I've encountered MANY Yasuo tops and they indeed go for Dancer and Mallet, but imo its not easy to play Yasuo and most people are quite inexperienced and play him just because "its played in korea must be op xD". Its an easy game if you are Poppy or Darius.
