PSA: Being Platinum or Diamond doesn't make you a god among norm match trash.

EmollientNut0··50 votes·3,285 views

I can't list the number of times I've seen someone at these levels get absolutely stomped in their lane 1v1, then blame the rest of the team on repeat before spamming a surrender vote. What rank is it exactly where you turn in to Hashinshin? There's nothing wrong with admitting you got beat.

PS: If you're diamond getting placed with Silvers that means 1 of 2 things: Either you don't play norms often (Which still makes you getting stomped questionable) Or you're actually boosted.

Or they are playing norms because they don't want to play at there best...

CrimsonReaps16 votes

Amen we have a correct answer i do that all the time.

DeathBot6664 votes

But then why are you flaming your teammates like the original post said. I'm all for not trying every once in a while, but then don't flip out over said game.

CrimsonReaps2 votes

i don't flip out at teamates for doing bad in norms normally only if its a lefit run it down mid intent feed will i aggro on them

GayFluffyUnicorn4 votes

Because my team spam pings me for being "boosted trash" just because i don't gank in the first 5 minutes when i'm playing jungle which i never play and i just want to slowly learn the perfect jungle routes.

THIS!

WHY DOES EVERYONE EXPECT YOU TO PLAY YOUR MAIN ROLE (OR EVEN TRY-HARD) IN NORMALS?

Weasel Kensei3 votes

You may not have to play a main role, but you should be trying.

Attitudes like this are kind of what make normals a cesspool of shitty fuckwits. Where are you supposed to go to learn a champ in a reasonable environment? Obviously its not normals because apperently that is reserved for dicking around... wait I though that was customs... Guess youre supposed to be playing in a proper environment, guess that means youre supposed to play against people NOT dicking around in ranked...

TNHA Baritone2 votes

You're right. If I have a headache, I'm going to try my HARDEST to dodge every skill shot and coordinate the most amount of ganks in the game right?

There's a difference between try harding and playing the game regularly.

When I want to win a game, it is evident, however, in most normal games, I focus on one specific thing each game (ie: landing skill shots on a new champ) and don't really care to win (unless that's what I'm focusing on).

Weasel Kensei3 votes

Well, thats the problem with normals... its like a sandbox at the playground. Different kids doing different things with different goals.

Kids like me that are trying to build a sand castle, and kids like you who are there to piss in the sandbox... cause its your sandbox, and fuck other kids they can just wade in your piss.

We dont have a place for people to do all the things people do in normals: Play off meta stuff (AD Soraka), perfect jungle routes, practice skill shots, push their skills in preparation for ranked, etc. They all get lumped in together.

Generally the "dont give a fuck" people get what they want out of normals, but there isnt a place for people who want a real practice match... just a piss soaked sandbox of kiddies.

TNHA Baritone1 votes

So who are you to say that the ultimate goal of normals is to build the castle?

I am confused. If I want to practice a specific thing, you are saying that I'm 'there to piss in the sandbox'. Yet you said, "there isn't a place for people who want a real practice match."

If you are trying to say that playing a normal for the sole purpose of micro play is wrong, then you clearly do not understand that every small micromanagement mistake that you make in game adds up.

If you want a real practice match, you can go into a game and practice. I don't know why you're so focused on your teammates' actions. It is not like you can control it in or out of ranked so why even bother?

Quit worrying about others and worry about yourself which is the only thing that you actually can change.

Clearly all you care about is yourself and what you want, and will never care about others, or what they want... basically a waste of time conversing with you cause your so self absorbed you cant even understand a point another human being is making... I bet you're confused a lot by the statements of others because those people arnt you, dont share your thoughts, and therefore the expression of their opinions just sounds like gibberish to you.

Congrats, youve beaten me. I can not convince you how you being a selfish asshole only concerned with your personal goals you have defined for yourself in a given match is a prick thing to do.

TNHA Baritone1 votes

OR...

I practice for my own benefit purely because I don't want to be the reason why my teammates have to lose any LP....

It's just a game bro....You don't even know me much less know how I do in normals....

This right here. I queue with a Diamond V & a Plat IV; I'm unranked and I struggle with high bronze/low silver players. And I'm glad they don't try hard when they play normals with me lol I'd never feel like I contribute to the team. I met the Plat IV in a norm when he DID try hard, and he was on the other team. I asked him if he would mind showing me a few tricks during our match and he proceeded to put on a show lol it was amazing even though I was biting the curb the majority of the game. They both play norms with me on MY team now, and even when they're not trying hard I STILL learn from them every match. They play off-roles & they're not trying hard at all. And the fact that they're much better than me puts ME with higher-skilled lane opponents. Even when they're not teaching me, they're teaching me.

TL;DR Give em a chance OP, you play to have fun; So can they. They're not pro players, they don't do this for a living. I understand being matched with a higher skill level is frustrating. Although my queue partners don't flame or rage, but they will point out a mistake I made. I can live with that.

If just more would have your attitude. I just played some normals yesterday with some irl "friends" (don't know them THAT well) they are all bronze-silver. And i got my main role after some loss and yeah just roflstomped them. My enemy syndra then wrote: can u please go slowly i play this game since a month and another also said "blabla why do i get matched with a diamond" (they atleast got a plat 2 in their team so matchmaking was actually okay this game) and after i said i will just farm don't bother me and do your thing their thresh immediately began flaming me for being "arrogant" and i shouldn't act like a god/faker blabla. So you see, whatever you do you do it wrong. Play for the win and people complain that you are 3 tiers above them. Play some off role to practice and you are boosted animal. Say you will just farm and not try to destroy them and you are arrogant and a prick. LOL. What can i do god dammit??

That's quite the predicament Fluffy. While I can't say what the best for the situation would be, I CAN tell you what I would do lol:

Lane the person who is being an ass, destroy them and say you'll stop if they stop complaining.

Giving the break to the Syndra was quite admirable and I do applaud you for that though :D Thresh was just bitter.

GayFluffyUnicorn1 votes

First: thanks for learning me a new word lol. I've never heard predicament in my life before and i'm actually not that bad at english only lazy online for proper english so kudos. Yeah well i roamed bot all the time and killed thresh over again and left ashe alone (she was clearly below lvl 30, just standing and AA the minions with no reaction whatsoever to deal with me). So yeah thanks, atleast someone who admits my behaviour sometimes :D

Try new champions, play with friends, perhaps under the influence. Or playing a game for fun.

Alleo5 votes

You can do all of that and still try to win. It's the people that say "it's just norms" that annoy me because there is a large number of the community that only plays norms and when people throw the game away because it's not ranked then it's a waste of time for the people who don't play ranked.

Never said they weren't trying to win. Just not doing there best. If I'm not one of my top couple champions or roles I'm significantly worse, therefore if i want to play say volibear jungle I may still be trying to win. Just not doing my best since I'm terrible at jungle and rarely play volibear.

Rorana2 votes

yeah. Hard to explain to people that care so much about normals that there is a difference between trying in normals with nothing on the line, and ranked with lp on the line. Also diamond+ games require a lot more effort than games below that (thats just my opinion). Anything below diamond I feel like i can just only rely on mechanics and not have to shot call at all to win games or have to think about making good decisions to end the game fast enough. Basically play more on autopilot

BIH Diamond1 votes

If you're getting pissed off this hard over a normal game then you should be in ranked

Or are you too scared you're going to get stuck in bronze/silver like the other kids who say "I dont play ranked?"

Alleo1 votes

I do play ranked almost exclusively now. I used to play only normals and I felt like I would be waisting my time when I would be trying to win games and I have someone going ad Janna top because "it's just normals".

So if you're not playing your best your have no right to complain. If you don't try you don't get any say in the outcome.

I just don't see how being toxic or a rager has to do with ranking. Sure they could be boosted. They also could be a diamond mid laner playing first time Kled top and just not that good at top. Either way them losing lane in a normal game does not make there rank irrelevant. Using unrelated anecdotal evidence to make a point is something I thought was only done by religious zealots and Republicans.

Some of them just play normals to take a break from ranked and play without stress, they're probably not even trying while everyone else is flaming each other in norms at every mistake someone makes

^This. I play with a challenger and he rarely gives more than 50%

Its his chance to blow off steam.

But whats funny is when the enemy team harrases him enough to piss him off.

Had one game where like a 3/0 twisted fate kept calling him "boosted trash" and other shit like that.

Freind went (welp fuck this im trying now)

He proceded to get 3 penta kills and that twisted fate ended up like 3/14

It was hilarious.

beating a diamond in norms doesn't make the diamond boosted nor does it make the silver a god, it mean that you are playing indeed a normal game.

MorgManBasher2 votes

Or maybe they are playing norms to have fun on a champion they don't play? They are diamond for a reason, they just give a fuck in normals. I have plenty of friends that are around diamond 3 to 1 that get stomped on sometimes in norms simply because they are screwing around just having fun.

TNHA Baritone2 votes

PS: If you're diamond getting placed with Silvers that means 1 of 2 things: Either you don't play norms often (Which still makes you getting stomped questionable) Or you're actually boosted.

TFW if you're not a low rank, you're automatically boosted in every situation. Like...please hop out of that mentality.

If I am a Karma OTP, and I pick Ryze, you will probably win lane.

There's this thing called learning a champion and even a role. High elo players still do that...

GayFluffyUnicorn1 votes

No if you are high rank you must play every role perfectly. Jk aside but i'm mechanically a fairly good lee sin (played him top nonstop back in the day) and i wanted to practice a bit in the jungle what i learned from D God Trick2gay. So i just farmed slowly, counterjungled and took the enemy (bronze) zac his whole jungle. I was level 5 already and he was 3 when he started ganking, I wanted to get 6 asap and THEN start ganking. Well my team died to EVERY gank from him donating some bonus gold and experience and then started spam pinging me for not ganking and "boosted diamond trash" without realizing that if they would ward and not die to every fuckin gank he would be absolutely useless since from a jungle POV i destroyed him. No buffs, no camps for him. He would be two level below and i could start ganking. Nope obviously my fault.... jungle is my worst role and i just wanted to practice so sorry when i'm actually too scared to gank from level 3 on since i don't know how to do it properly.

That's harassment and slander, if this were Reddit you'd be shot down by mods.

Also, barely anyone beats Hashinshin in lane. But if we wanna play dumb here, losing 5% of the time 1v1 is LITERALLY ALL THE TIME.
