Anyone Else Jungle Talon?

I really enjoy Talon and his kit, and I main jungle. So, jungle Talon. Now that that's out of the way, I've run into a snag. Once I get 450 gold I'm fine, but before I get my Ranger's he gets obliterated in the jungle by the mobs and I always fear being ROFL stomped by a counterjungler. My clear times are fine, the ganks are fantastic but his first clear or two is a total joke.

Should I be changing my runes around? I run 21/9/0 right now with masteries, and he's still getting beaten down. Without a decent leash (Which isn't always a given), I frequently am forced to back before I have enough gold to purchase my Trailblazer, and even if I do, I really like to have a health pot or two for my second clear.

Any tips on this?

my only thoughts are to run 9/12/9 masteries, and take some flat armor seals and even glyphs possibly. he's very squishy, so i doubt a traditional jungle build helps his early game.

jungle pathing, ever thought of doing golems into red into scuttle then raptors or possible gank chance? if gank fails take the other scuttle then base with enough gold?

I usually do golems into red whenever possible, especially since Talon isn't going to go OOM in his first clear unless you are horrible at mana management.

I HADN'T thought of fitting in Scuttle before Raptors. Makes sense though. More gold, and time spent healing without taking damage in the process or wasting time, plus vision helping against counterjungling that would otherwise bone him over.

Only issue with that is I have to pray to God that the enemy jungler doesn't find me, because Talon is a crappy duelist until he at least has his ultimate. Even then he only sh*ts on squishies, and the jungle meta consists of a tun of bruisers.

You really think defense runes/masteries is worthwhile on Talon? He doesn't even gank well until 6, and even post 6 is really only picked because of his mid/end game. His early is notoriously bad.

NOT AT ALL questioning it, just curious of your reasoning, just always looking to consider new stuff. Really appreciate the post.

he's going to be prone to invades no matter what runes and masteries you have. I'd say AD quints, attack speed marks, armor yellows. and probably run at least to the armor masteries in the defensive tree. maybe even do 4 armor reds/5 attack speed reds.

Yes I know. I currently run AD quints, AS marks and armor yellows, and do have armor masteries.

But you said you run 21/9 which wouldnt allow you to get armor masteries. But w/e. Try the 4 armor marks.
