RIP Poppy

As if the rework wasn't enough. Taking away her ult and her AD ratios wasn't enough for you Riot. You had to rework her into a tank (which NO ONE asked for btw). She was barely managing a 50% win rate. Poppy was mediocre at best after her rework but I guess that means it's time to gut Poppy for the second time. Why don't you just delete this champ? Because it's obvious you don't want her to exist no matter what you do to her.

Lots of people wanted her to be a tanky champion because that's always what her visuals implied she was (full suit of mail, big shield, hammer for bonking). Almost everyone also agrees that her old kit needed to go, it was just bad.

Her winrate is pretty comfortably over 50% but that doesn't really tell the whole story. Poppy is a flex pick that currently works really well in 3 positions, she has enough damage in her kit to kill players even when building tanky, and even without her damage her powerful displacement options with E and R also make her relevant. She's strong in solo queue AND was constantly picked in the LCS.

The power of using her R properly in fights gives her a high skillcap and her seemingly mediocre winrate now is only temporary as players learn to use her better in fights and attain higher and higher winrates with her.

Her power, flexibility, and reliability are all top tier and this light tap to her damage shouldn't do much but is still needed to keep her under control.

Speak for yourself dude. I sure as hell never asked for her to be made into a tank. I would've preferred if they hadn't touched her at all. But of course Riot never listens to the people who play the champ.

In her current state, yes she's strong and flexible, and she has decent damage while being tanky. But look at Udyr, Malphite, Fiora, Darius, etc. All these champions are able to build tanky and have crazy damage. What is it about Poppy that warrants a nerf? She has a strong early/mid game thanks to all the armor she stacks. But late game you have your armor pen, true damage, %health damage, %missing health damage, etc. With all this tank busting stuff she's not gonna last very long, and her damage does not scale well at all. Like I said, Riot turned her into an early/mid game champion, but late game she is completely useless.

I never said you did, I said a LOT of people did. It's unfortunate you didn't want them to touch her because her old kit was bad and needed to be redone. It's unfortunate you wanted her to stay an assassin because they didn't go that direction with her rework, but that's still what happened and a lot of people are happy with it. If you miss playing an assassin with a weak early game and a powerful late who depends on an auto reset, would you consider looking at Jax instead? I feel his kit and old Poppy's were 90% similar in their patterns and playstyle.

I assure you I did spend a fair amount of time playing old Poppy and I admit she had some fun moments, but I recognized that they were unhealthy for the game and that she was left to rot in a nearly unplayable state for a reason.

Her massive utility dwarfs all of those champions and, other than Fiora who Riot is also looking closely at ways to nerf her without killing her (her recent change to vital spawning was pretty big and they're obviously waiting to see if that will constitute a large enough nerf to keep her under control), Poppy is the only one who was DOMINATING picks in pro play as a champ you can easily pick without thinking about since it gives almost zero information to the enemy and she'll be strong no matter where she goes or how well she does.

her damage does not scale well at all

This is so very, very wrong. 6% max hp damage up to twice per use of her low cooldown Q is making her always relevant. No matter how late the game is going, wall slam, stun, Q, R, Q deals very significant damage and locks them out of the fight for a very long time.

Because they vowed to never buff her and nerfs were unnecessary when she was total garbage. Are you just in denial about what playing old Poppy was like?

Lol no current poppy is strong as hell. The nerfs are needed and she will still be strong after them.

No one cares about Poppy. Sad.
