When you stop and think about it, this game is pretty amazing

Besides the basics to the game, the items, and all of the champions. This game is simply amazing for the fact that its constantly changing. If you are someone like me who has been playing it for years and many games a year its hard to remember all of the changes Riot makes. But when you stop and think about it, the game and meta change drastically at least 2 if not 3 to 4 times a year. And that is just from patches..... none of these "expansions" other games introduce and make you pay for.

I will admit season 6 is not my favorite. I am not really enjoying the current meta and I am not convinced dynamic queue is the way of the future. However, this game is completely different from where it was at the end of season 5 and will be changing again come patch 6.9. Some changes we love, so changes we hate, but at least Riot is willing to take risks and keep changing their game and keeping it fresh.

Bring on the hate, but under all the salt is love. Or French fries.

to be fair.

instead of 1 big expansion every year, riot is just contineously making content theyre making you pay for. at least if youre not already playing for 6 years, i can hardly imagine how else you want to get a lot of champions, runepages and runes together. its just different pacing.

also, dynamic que sucks donkey ass. too many 3 and 4 man premades boosting shitty players. and as a solo player it feels absolutely terrible playing the game right now.

Pay for? What money am I paying that I don't have to play the new content? If your talking champions then you still don't have to "pay"... unless your really low on IP... Like me... I suck at league...

True I have been hating on this season pretty hard as well. But then one of my friends who hasn't played in a year got online and wanted to play. This made me realize masteries were completely different. I personally used to hardly ever switch up my mastery pages, but now I at least look and update them a little more often. I also realized the jungle, meta, some champions, etc completely changed as well.

I do think Riot went too far with Dynamic queue and really hope they get rid of premades. I am not saying all of their changes are good, just saying it is cool that they are willing to try.

Your right about the pricing haha. Free to play but how many people spend $0 after playing for say a year? Would say the percentage has to be pretty low.

Thank you for giving Riot the appreciation they deserve. They make mistakes sometimes, but League of Legends is a great game overall. They sure do better than I (and probably most of the people who constantly complain about their decisions) would.

I used to agree with this sentiment, largely for the reason that the game wasn't changing that much.

New champions, tweaks to gameplay and balance, but by and large you have this game that stays essentially the same yet gives you this dynamic experience each time you queue in, and still manages to evolve over the years.

I've found most of the changes to be positive, or at least not damaging to the game.

S2--> S3 made the jungle more accessible for all players, and champs, solidified jungle as a support/gank role. Lots of jungle changes to help with accessibility, viability, etc. The itemization and utility on smite, I think, overall positive changes.

Changes to vision/wards/oracles and the addition of trinkets, I don't see much harm here. Vision is a shared burden instead of just a jg/support thing, and everyone has some cash to itemize now, especially with the support/gold generation items and ward items.

For the most part, I like the changes. I don't feel they are necessary to keep the game interesting or fun, but they've helped smooth out some of the rougher edges of the support/jungle roles and help make the game fun and interesting for everyone playing. I think Riot, at least in the past, has really had the game and the community at heart with what they have done with the game.

This said, and maybe it is because I've been gone a while, the feel of things now is different. The rigid behavioral/personality requirements make socialization difficult and tense, and the removal of dynamic queue has essentially flattened the competitive aspect of the game. What drove people to perform and do better has been taken away. Alongside these announcements+timers for dragon/baron, and soon jungle buffs, I can't say I like the recent direction the game has been taking.

I've been happy to have gotten back into League the last month or so and I'm hoping to see things turn back around, but right now I think, like many players, I am discouraged
