What even is wukong

Guy has one job and thats to burst. You're an awful front line with limited get away and engage potential. Your most powerful ability is an ultimate with a freaking base dmg of 20 so its only a disruption for a second. Your kits entirely auto attack reset based but they give you an empowered q with a base ad of 10 and a starting scaling of 0 and that goes up by 10% a level for a whooping 40% max...and your damn passive makes you a fake ass wannabe tank. come on riot is wu a bruiser or assassin cause he plays like fizz and is item dependent like assassins but doesn't have enough burst to secure everything unless your really ahead.

Edit: but seriously if wu's identity is a diver give him a passive with 8 % percent dmg reduction depending on how many champs are hitting him so he's useful in teamfights at all phase but still ok in 1v1's and have his ultimate slow and pull enemies the closer they are to him ( cause he's making a tornado) and have wu throw enemy projectiles behind him and Ally projectiles ahead so your not punished for going in and allows for a more interactive and creative game play. if the enemies inside the epicenter wu cannot reflect the projectiles and will take the full dmg ( passive still applies.) There wu's now a good champ and has an identity while being entirely unique. his ultimate is a double edge sword but gives more strategic play like kin and bard ultimates and would be great to see.

But that's the thing is most divers have a way to sustain in team fights and wukong is lacking heavily in that. Camille has amazing mobility a great shield and an ultimate that disrupts and allows her to trap and kill priority targets. wu on the other hand has low mobility and needs a yommus and mobs to do something similar but to get in usually cost wu his w the only dmg mitigation tool in his kit and might not even result in a kill. ulting the enemy team has them focus you and remove you from the fight so wu basically uses a whole rotation and dies and that isn't good as a champion especially when you're trying to carry. if his passive gave him more benefits defensively or offensively he wouldn't really have this issue. If the ultimate had a 80% dmg reduction from projectiles (cause your literally making a tornado with your body, it should weaken range attacks or have them bounce) slight pull effect to prevent easy escaping ( again tornado with your body.) and 5% dmg reduction for each person inside his ultimate then he's a diver but 38 amour/ mr isn't enough to justify having you as a diver. If he's an assassin he needs to do extra dmg to the first person hit by his ultimate with a cd of 20 seconds and reduced other units hit like ezreals and Caitlyn had on their abilities. passive would need to give wu extra movement after a successful kill and refresh wu cd on his w then he'll have the safety net Zed,Kat,Akali and other assassin have. Wu needs a clearly defined identity cause having something this jumbled is frustrating especially as a wu player.

ill never understand why Wukong players think they have it so bad. Wukong is better, and more functional than like 50% of the champion pool.

XElite1091 votes

Its just he's so feast and famine. I don't like how mixed up everything feels on him cause the dmg output you do on engage is high as fuck but you still don't got the same spikes as other champs with in his class. he's a threat lvl 1,3,11, with your biggest spike being dusk and clever to deal near true dmg but his play style is like an assassin where he is really high risk with good burst but lacks resets and the mobility they have.

You'll never understand for many reasons :

  • you play in low elo (yeah, gold is low elo) : mean you and your mates are unlikely to play properly (from laning to teamfight).
  • you dont play Wukong nor against

There a reason his pickrate is so low, and a reason why in diams players dont like when you pick Wukong.

I've felt like he's on the weak side for awhile now, but I just looked him up out of curiosity and apparently he actually has the highest win rate of any Top laner providing the game lasts at least 30 minutes.

Meaning he scales extremely, extremely well (which isn't surprising considering his ult's AD ratio and item 3147 still existing)

Boards clueless as usual when it comes to champion strength. I bet people will start saying Teemo is weak soon too lol.

XElite1091 votes

well teemo sucks at team fights but he has a good early game and zoning which he abuses vs melees. teemo is also versatile and useful with almost any build and can control the ap with his shrooms. his blind effects every champ in the game but heavily effects adcs and melee champs who aren't spell based so he has good things going for him. Only issue is he's squishy and his passive isn't good in team fights but is great for ambushing and surprise attacks. he doesn't have the same level of burst a lot of champs has but he does multiple things that can help swing games in his favor.

^^ Perfect example on how boards are clueless

Teemo is dogshittier since item 3364 release

Yea man that 53% win rate. Complete dogsh*t right now. Another perfect example of how clueless people are.

According to lolalytics

There are 0 grandmaster / chall teemo players on Euw There is just 1 master teemo main on Euw

That alone says enough about champion viability

You can check Korea if you want more data, I wont because its a waste of fking time scouting a champion which I know is dogshit tier

Just because Teemo can do something in Mid elo range doesnt mean he exists as anything more then a troll force a dodge pick in high elo

Wukong has been massively underrated for a long time. Like the old version of Swain or even Quinn before she took off sometime last year. He counters a lot of people in top lane and does stupid amounts of damage and can come out of nowhere with his invis. It is just that not a lot of people play him so that means he is less known. Old Swain could solo carry a game and when I first started playing I saw maybe one or two of him in a 6 month period. Then I picked him up and was instantly hooked. Then they reworked him into a much harder to play champion that I wish existed separately but still love. :)

Some champions just get overlooked to be honest.

He dont. Most toplaners are tanky and have sustain. Wukong has low damage before finishing his first item and reaching lv11. Just building tabi is enough for removing Wukong from toplane... but anyway, most toplaners insta win the lane against him (granted you need to know how lane). Wukong never come from nowhere.... you should just controle the map and developpe your selfawarness.

58.02 Win% against Ornn 59.02 Win% against Irelia 57.58 Win% against Viktor 62.56 Win% against Vayne 60.19 Win% against Mundo 58.72 Win% against Shen 58.18 Win% against Galio 57.10 Win% against Akali 56.60 Win% against Pantheon 62.68 Win% against Lissandra

All in top lane only. All in the last 7 days. Even picks like Illaoi and Quinn only beat him by less than 2% And this is high-level play, not bronze so knowing how to lane is not a question. Even Yasuo and Jax (of all people) have losing Win% against Wukong by over 6% for Yasuo and around 3% for Jax.

Dude counters a lot of top lane pretty hard if you can play him well.

And as for "never out of nowhere" because of map awareness... You can say that for basically anyone. But a guy with invisibility and a dash can easily appear quickly. This took basically no effort to find.

This is game victory, not lane victory. Not quite the same.

We know he has great teamfight presence. That's not the point that's being made.

No, these are specifically counters in lane, carrying over to a win. I think it is amusing to use what people say as legitimate rather than actual statistics and facts.

its really hard to talk with you, you have a low elo pov and your lack of experience. Wr dont matter, his pickrate is low.

Would be faster for you to look at Harambe stream (and ask him).

There no decents toplaners losing to a Wukong in straight 1v1.

Dude counters a lot of top lane pretty hard if you can play him well.

no. Play him top, you will be surprise. You think he's good cause in your plats games the few wukongs are always fed.

If you're a supp mains or most tanks tbh, should take no effort to manage a Wukong.

And this is high-level play, not bronze so knowing how to lane is not a question.

are you really saying plat is high level ?

Even picks like Illaoi and Quinn only beat him by less than 2%

that why you should stop looking at wr. Wukong can't win the 1v1 against Illaoi and its clearly.

Even Yasuo and Jax (of all people) have losing Win% against Wukong by over 6% for Yasuo and around 3% for Jax.

Why using even mainly in Yasuo case ?? Yasuo isnt a strong toplaner.

Wukong used to counter him... before riot nerfed him, now, yasuo just need to build tabi and its gg. Jax win against Wukong most of time and outscale him. Really a free lane for JAx.

If your entire argument is that "your elo is too low to matter" you have proven that you have no interest in a logical conversation. ELO, on any account, means nothing when presented with facts. I gave you statistics for the top players of that champion vs top players of other popular champions. You can claim that "elo and lack of experience" is a problem. That is no different than saying "you are bronze" and is a very, very sad attempt at being insulting. You should probably read the actual post instead of hurling insults and pretending that valid statistics are invalid.

Just go on Wukong sub reddit or x champions subb, and ask them if Wukong counter their pick. You're to focused on wr.

You can even ask to the best Wukong NA, would be faster.

Seems unlikely that someone having that huge of a win % against certain champions has nothing to do with countering them. But either way, I have no interest in discussing further when your focus is on elo.

you do realize his invisible is 1 second... its a bit hard to cover large distances in 1 second.

I listed a huge list of things though. Not just one thing that is being picked out here. One second is a lot in a fight. Leona's stun ends fights when used properly.

Wukong is weak atm, i advice you to not play him. He was overnerfed (dont listen these players saying he's fine, they have no clue about the game).

Wukong is a Divers (x assassin). But if you pick him you have no lane pressure (or jungle pressure), you just play hoping your mates stay even... in this case a Malphite is a better choice. You are easly diveable, despite playing your whole lane under turret.

make yourself a favor, dont play him.

I'm with you on this cause those base stats wu has are asstastic. Im a wu main it hurts seeing him like this. plats already hard enough with how many meta picks do my job better and get to a stronger state even when im even with them and that's what I find most frustrating. the fact that my strongest point is the team fight but im still irrelevant is absolutely insulting.
