He's pretty consistently at 55-56% win rate, with 8% play rate and rising. Mains are at almost 63% win rate. These numbers are insane. Most champions are nerfed well before they reach this point.
Are there any nerfs coming? As it stands, he's basically a superior version of Rammus, performing a similar role while having significantly higher damage and lock down.

He has some pretty harsh nerfs coming in 9.18
Here's what they have planned for Nunu:
Subject to change of course, as is every PBE cycle
Health per Level lowered from 90 to 82
Armor per level lowered from 3.5 to 3.
Starting Mana lowered from 283.56 to 280.
Base Mana Regen lowered from 7.44 to 7
Snowball Barrage (E) slow reduced from 50% at all ranks to 30 - 50%.

Shmeeve1 votesIt's not the nunu's damage that makes him so reliable, it's his teamfight strength. He has a massive engage, small damage with an aoe root around him, can heal, and has an ultimate that nukes not only an enemy team's health, but their movement speed by a large margin.

The problem isn't really his team fight strength, it's the mixture of mobility and CC. His ganks are too strong and he's virtually impossible to counter jungle, so he always sets the pace of the game.
He moves across the map too quickly and no champion can stop him from disengaging a 1v1 if he gets caught, which allows him to very safely clear wards. Even if you maintain vision control of your lane entrances, if you're more than 1/3 of the way out, it's too late to back off by the time you see him, and then once he's on top of you, you're permanently CC'd and have no chance of escape.
