[REWORK CONCEPT] Sivir, the Battle Mistress

Greetings.

Firstly, I am Oto. I've been playing quite a lot of Sivir, especially lately. Personally, I enjoy her a lot, as she is fun, feels smooth to play, mostly balanced (sitting around 50.0% Winrate at the moment, according to leagueofgraphs) and simple. However, I see a lot of people wishing for some sort of buffs nowadays, which I do not fully agree with, since she's known to be the queen of LCS when slightly strong in SoloQ.

So i've come to the conclusion that she needs something more than number changes. She should be living up to everyone's expectations. She should feel like she was meant to be.

Well what is it then? What's the key of this personality? What's in your mind when you meet this character? Gold. She should be a Gold-based champion.

BUT OTO, ISN'T THIS BASICALLY Draven ? ISN'T HE WHAT SIVIR SHOULD HAVE BEEN? Not exactly. You throw money at Draven because you want to. You throw money at Sivir because you have to. And you might throw your head as well.

So here is the Rek'Sai scale update I have been thinking at. Without further ado, I will start sharing my thoughts.

Passive: [REWORKED] Mercenary: Sivir gains bonuses based on the gold she is holding. 500g: Hitting champions with basic attacks and abilities will give a boost of movement speed (80 flat) lasting 0.5 s. (Basically her current passive with lower duration but higher effect. Hit and run.) 1000g: Boomerang Blade will apply Grievous Wounds for 3 seconds to enemies who have been hit twice by this ability. (Rewards good skillshot and good positioning) 1500g: On The Hunt's movement speed boost duration will be refreshed if Sivir scores a kill or an assist. (The reset applies only for Sivir) 2000g: Blocking an ability with Sivir's E will also heal her for half the damage she should have received from the ability. (Rewards patience and good reflexes)

Q: [UPDATED] Boomerang Blade Damage: 25 / 45 / 65 / 85 / 105 (+ 70 / 80 / 90 / 100 / 110% AD) (+ 50% AP) - > 40 / 50/ 60 / 70 / 80 (+ 80% AD) (+ 70% AP) NEW: The first enemy hit also receives 10% of their max health as physical damage. REMOVED: Damage no longer falls off. Projectile speed: Faster in the beginning, slowing down until returns, the fastens up. A static ability cast would take around 2.25 seconds. Width: Decreased. Range: unchanged

Just some tweaks to make the ability to feel smoother. Oh and physics.

W: Ricochet NEW: Hitting an enemy champion with a Ricochet will debuff them for 4 second, stacking 3 times. At 3 debuffs, target will be marked for 6 seconds. Sivir's Boomerang Blade or basic attacks will cause the mark to be consumed, and Sivir gains 80~250 gold (scaling with the enemy's level), along with 50% bonus attack speed for 4 seconds. NEW: Ricochet projectile speed scales with Sivir's attack speed.

This is what makes Sivir a true bandit. Hit'em and snatch'em.

E: [Updated] Spellshield Duration: 1.5s -> 0.75s Active shield duration: 0.1(?)s - > 0.4s NEW: Has an animation (Riot pls)

This means that Sivir can block more abilities at once (Especially useful against Syndra, Lucian, MF etc.). In exchange, this ability needs to be more reactive rather than proactive.

R: [UPDATED] On The Hunt

Sivir rallies her nearby allies for 5/6/7 seconds, giving them and Sivir bonus movement speed when moving towards enemy champions.

Every ally near Sivir receives the buff -> Champions only The buff will be applied to new nearby allies -> Only to nearby allies on cast Movement speed: 20%~70% (based on the followed enemy's current gold, 2000g being the maximum value)

Aaaaand that's a wrap on what I had to say. This will not only make her gameplay more engaging and interactive, but she will also be easier to balance and tweak in case she needs attention. In my opinion, this rework brings new niches on the table while also keeping the cool parts of Sivir's current kit. I hope I have expressed my ideas correctly and I have been clear enough, if not feel free to comment. Will fix any typos and grammatical mistakes tomorrow.

See you on the rift. And your money as well.

Everyone has a price.

I would loooove to see this rework happening, with some more balancing it would be just perfect. One question: if sivir gets 2000 gold, that means she has all the rewards from the passive at the same time? Or just a single reward at the time? You should make this aspect clearer. +1 upvote

Of course she will have the bonuses simultaneously if she has more than 500g, otherwise she will be like "Damn I needed that ult reset bonus, and now I just have the E heal thingy" or something like that

Not to say it isn't good, but probably fits better in Concepts and Creations

I also wasn't sure this fits Gameplay section or not, I thought that C&C is for pure champion/Kit concepts, while this has similarities with the original kit.

As a Sivir main (obviously) i must admit this is just perfect. 💗Sivir 💗

I love this a TON. I sort of would like her Q to be able to bounce off walls.

I'd rather the gold that is being measured be a unique resource that converts to real gold when you recall. This way she doesn't have to not buy items to benefit from her passive, and still uses real gold in her kit. Keep her mama costs probably though.

I like the Q change.

The passive doesn't sound right - while thematically it's awesome, you need to look at what it provides gameplay-wise. This means that Sivir is rewarded for holding her gold and not recalling, which might be a good design for a late game champion that wants to stay in the lane and farm as much as she can, but I think different bonuses would be better (have no idea what bonuses tho).

Ricochet is awesome, fits great thematically and works against her being feast or famine, great idea the gold scaling with level of enemy hit.

It's true that I didn't brainstorm that much on the bonuses of the passive, but my philosophy was that:

  • The first bonus is something she always has currently, so it's the cheapest (500g). Lower duration and better effect so it feels like a little sprint.
  • The second bonus is based on the fact that, usually, your enemies on botlane will at least have summoner 7 and maybe even a healing support.
  • The third bonus gives Sivir access to kill streaks and stickiness, especially in teamfights, which occur around mid-game.
  • The fourth bonus is the most expensive because I felt like it was the most powerful to be honest.

The idea of the passive is that going back to buy items can sometimes be an important decision to make. Should I go buy a B.F, or do I feel like I can do a double kill if the jungler is coming? Should I go recall with 2k gold or do I feel like I can handle anyone with my empowered spellshield?

And I can swap the third and the fourth bonuses if you want to.

ADC always preffers the damage (in the ideal world they wouldn't, but we're here) and going into a teamfight without items is a bad option. If anything, I think survivability buffs would be better - if they would't encourage turtleing too much. What if it only gave the first buff that would scale with the amount of gold? Let's say, 40 (+ 10 per 200 gold currently holding) movement speed? With 1000 gold it would be 90 bonus MVS, which is a huge buff, but she would trade damage in that moment. Would need to be capped for sure at like 120 at most and/or have a short CD.

If you put offensive power to this passive, it always ends up at the question about cost efficiency. Based on the math with item 3123 , Grievous wounds cost 275 g (if needed, I can post the whole equation). Basically you buy it for 1000 gold with little MVS buff on attack as a bonus - and we could continue. Not to mention if their healing is high, you'll buy EC nevertheless, thus making part of her passive or damage irrelevant since midgame, from which the player obviously chooses passive.

I do like the idea of making her a gold based champion, and the basic ability changes work out well. But the passive and ultimate changes aren't so agreeable. You're making her power based not only on her gold, but her enemy's gold. People don't tend to like to hoard gold, they want to spend it and get items, especially marksmen. I rarely hold onto 2000g at once (but I'm a support main what do I know?)

Make her a gold-based champion, don't make her reliant on herself and other champions hoarding gold. But other than that, solid idea.

So basically, a passive saying "dont spend gold"?

Glory to God1 votes

More like a passive saying "Is it that bad not spending gold?". The player will decide whether the bonuses are worth keeping or not.

Besides, you can spend gold while keeping some of the bonuses (let's say you have 1800 gold and want to keep your first bonus, just pick up a BF and you have both).

i think it would be interesting if she becomes an adc that supports her support a bit. like when near an ally you get 5 less gold per last hit but your nearby ally gets 8 gold. then you can boost her base damage a little since items will be alittle harder to get and a little bit of ratio. can adjust or rework one of her spells from that point and make it into a mini rework.

Anything that gives boomerang blade more power is nice and I would love. I miss old Sivir Q. New Sivir Q has terrible base damage so it sucks so bad without items. I was thinking why not make it to were champs hit by ricochet take more damage from Sivir Q? Gives more depth to Sivir and makes her more deadly in AOE scenarios early.

The main problem I feel is that she could fall off a cliff or start an avalanche having her gold scale up her actual in-game damage. Sure this makes her Full build that much scarier since she can get six items, a red pot, then just stack gold, but early and mid game it's a strange passive because you need to choose if you want to go back for items and loose your buffs, or keep your buffs but not have any items. That's not to say I oppose of the idea that Sivir should be the 'gold' champion, for example, her W idea I actually like, since it doesn't really give her gold AND damage, but gives good Sivir players a way to get a gold lead. I also think this is a bit to strong of a rework, since all of her abilities with the exception of her ultimate are basically getting buffed. Her Q does more damage and doesn't fall off when hitting minions, Her W would be harder to avoid with the attack speed steroid, her E..... well honestly I feel like Sivir's E is underwhelming... so I like this idea, like you said she doesn't need a buff, just a change.
