What's everyone's view on the new Tank items on PBE?

Now this is on the PBE right now so some of this may or may not change, but as it is right now what are your thoughts on the reworked items?

item 3001 & item 3102 - They literally just switched the build order of them, giving specter health and health regen in exchange for AP and vice versa for banshee's, except now the CDR on it reduces by level and can get to an 8 second CD. I'm OK with some of these changes but having a 8 second cooldown on banshee's I'm not totally thrilled about. It feels like it's going to be item 3814 all over again.

item 1413 item 1409 item 1401 - just more damage to minions/monsters.

item 1054 - Honestly, I think this change is much needed. Doran's Shield as it is right now I just find completely worthless. It doesn't really give you a whole lot of value as blade does. Now it helps you last hit better (and since it's not a unique passive you could stack them. Could) but it also gives a mini specter's cowl from getting damaged by enemy champs.

item 3026 - ......I really don't think this item will work if the rework goes through. I mean you're getting armor AND damage instead of MR now. Why? If this is suppose to help ADC's build some more defensive items but still maintain their damage or something like then I can already see this failing because really you can build GA on almost anyone in League. On top of this, I can easily see Yasuo building this, if not going back to his tank bruiser build. Granted though, it does give less armor, but still with the fact that you can revive from it and gain damage from this doesn't sit well with me.

item 3083 - I like these changes, it lowers the bar for what you need for the health regen, the regen is up to 5%, and goes to a 2 sec cooldown now when damage by minions. However, I do have to say something about the lower health bar but I'll get to that in a second.

Adaptive Helm - Builds the same as the new Abyssal, same stats and everything, except it reduces the damage of previous cast spells on you. What? So things like Cass, Swain, Singed, etc. now do less damage over time when you're hit by their spells. I don't know if I should be happy or terrified about this. I mean yay I now have an item that helps me against these champs but at the same time this is an item that prevents them from doing what they're suppose to do fairly big.

Gargoyle Stoneplate - Gives an Irelia effect with your defenses when going against 3 enemies, but also increases your health on activation by 40%, 100% if the passive is in effect, but also reduces your damage by 60%. This is obviously towards diving meat shield tanks and honestly I don't really know how to feel. On the one hand, you're giving it a Wukong/Irelia passive, on the other the active makes champs like Sej, Alistar, etc. fairly well at what they do.

And finally item 3143 item 3742 item 3068 item 3065

  • Dead man's now only deals bonus damage at full stacks, gain stacks quicker, and lose 15 stacks on attacks.
  • Randuin's loses crit reduction (WHY?!?!), Slow duration down but % effect up and cost is lowered to 2600
  • Sunfire damage down early (though I think it scales better late game, IDK someone double check on that) and has same effect as Cinderhulk
  • Visage MR up

But overall the biggest issue I have is Why Are They LOWERING HEALTH AND INCREASING THE ARMOR?!?! Remember my mention with Warmog's? Well here's why I kinda have my doubts about that. Armor now across these items (except Visage) is now rounded to 60, but all health on all of these items are down to 425. Why? Don't forget that most juggernauts and divers build some of these items as well, and is losing 75 health across all of these items worth that 10 extra armor on a few of them when we already have the disgusting combo of Armor Pen + Lethality? Until I see more changes that are going to address this I'm not super thrilled about this.

good shit

item 3001 tanks (and AP fighters Galio Rumble ) make much better use of this item's aura than 90% of mages, really the only champs who actually built it mid were short-range mages like Annie and assassins. putting it on the tank means Xerath doesn't have to get in a range he doesn't want to be in for the bonus damage. My only complaint is that it's still an aura and the entire damage boost is all up-front; no time commitment or anything. I thought we didn't like auras item 3110 item 3190

item 3102 much better for mages as a safety net. only problem is the 8 second CD on it late. Should go down to like 12, at the least.

item 3083 still worthless outside of Soraka, Volibear/Mundo and ARAM. Doubt anyone else will build it. Needs to have more HP if it's going to be a health-only purchase.

Adaptive helm - genius. Solves the DPS mage problem (and the KogMaw bullshit) without harming burst mages. All it needs is to not reduce the damage of multi-hit spells like Viktor's upgraded laser and ult, because that's unfair when it's already counterplayable.

Gargoyle - meh. The health boost isn't working on PBE so I have no way of gauging its usefulness in practice. I need to know how the health gain interacts with Voli/Mundo % healing before I make a decision.

item 3143 losing the crit reduction is fine but the active nerf isn't. This is a huge hit to juggernauts for that reason; a 2 second slow is far worse for champions with no hard CC in their kits.

My biggest gripes are the items having the same stats and not varying in those respects; feels very mediocre and limiting. Juggernauts will come out of this fairly okay but a buff to item 3053 is absolutely deserved by this point

item 3102 item 3001 typical riot's poor decision making, they thought malzahar's rework was a masterpiece and decided to make his now niche passive as an item for every mage. It doesn't make sense why they switched the build paths and not just the passives... this is going to be so trippy for players for awhile, when I see a glowing purple staff with a skull, I think of killing people, not being a tank. Overall, they should've switched the passives rather than the build paths so the items still fit their intended goal.

item 3026 So assassins and AD divers got a buff, and AP got a nerf? Like this is a good change for kha, and rengar (maybe broken later on), but this item was so good on AP divers like elise, kat, diana, eve, even azir liked to build this.. and now they just removed an entire pool of champions from building this while making their lives harder? I can't even see myself building this on tanks anymore because it doesn't resist enough. Absolutely dumb. The passive might be strong enough for drawn out games to have AP divers build it anyway, but its just... why AD... hell it'd make more sense to give fucking crit or guinsoo's treatment, at least everything can utilize that for the passive.

item 3083 eh, its not bad. I don't mind this change, just hope soraka doesn't return to be as cancerous as she was last year with this. Even mundo I don't believe can abuse this too badly.

Adaptive helm, another item 3047 item 3156 item, it'll be a god send in patches, but single handedly hurt a large pool of champions from existing. I respect this item but I do see issues with it late. (Who wants riot to buff teemo to 1000AP to be meta with this item around?)

Stonrplate, again eh, I like it. It'll be an interesting item so long as tanks don't do to much damage (coughpoppy) and juggernauts don't abuse it. I could see divers like vi going with this as well.

Randuin's omen, lets just accept riot is drunk.

Pretty much what mid season looks like: Buffs to yasuo (GA/Randuins changes), Removal of malzahar's identity even more, and players who didn't read patch notes getting fucked over by the abyssal banshee's changes.

I'd argue the banshee change is a good buff to AP divers.

I feel neutral.

Its good, but at the same time I did enjoy the bonus AP damage I'd do to the person I jump on, for example if I'm playing diana, I want to get in, kill somebody, and gtfo if I can, with the banshee's change that's a little less damage, so if they live while I'm still taking damage that's a bit of an issue.

a better a more broken item than item 3814

Its not dumb. Most of AP are ranged, count on skillshot... for ap whose need to commit to kill they already have item 3157. Tank won't build it anymore... and its what riot desire. Its totaly legi to make it an item only ad.

This new item 3026 isn't a Yasuo buff... he won't build it early unless he's in trouble, not even in mid... there so much better item for him... they'll change cost btw.

and players who didn't read patch notes getting fucked over

this is their problem.

I miss when warmogs gave 1k health, and you had to get force of nature for significant health regeneration. Can't believe they expect people to play tanks more when they're getting their entire build nerfed.
