Number 1 reason to pick Rammus https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=V-8Q4PM4PXM
Seen it, loved it.
Reasons I main rammus
He's super tanky
Has taunt
His thornmail type thing
When you get homegaurds on boots of mobi and q out of base
Getting behind? No worries you're rammus.

Reasons I don't main Rammus
Granted, but it's less meaningful than what other tanks have.
Single target lockdown that is easily avoidable and removable, resulting in low total CC. He has a slight displacement and slow on Q, but that's about it.
Still very low damage output.
Extremely situational that this comes in handy, and it's not enough to justify the pick.
Every CC tank ever.
I'm not saying he's bad, but he's indisputably outclassed.
I'm sorry, but rammus does a consirable amount of damage, only with Cinderhulk/SunfireCape and ult
Any tank can build Cinder >_>. You also can't compare the damage output of Sejuani, for example, to Rammus.
But. Yes. If they stand in your ultimate for 8 seconds, it'll deal 1560 (+ 240% AP). Theoretically. The problem is:
He is a tank and will not have MPenn.
Because of this, it'll really only deal substantial damage to squishies, and ADCs will lifesteal it back pretty quickly.
Mobility and CC will inhibit your success in sticking to your target.
The result is that a large amount of this potential damage is negated. I will try a few things tomorrow but I'm not too hopeful.
I have to agree that he's outclassed by other tanks. However, Rammus' not bad by itself, just not as good as other.
True, but squishies don't have that much resistances/health
I would agree with that, but most (if not all) Rammus will buy
. This and his W will negate almost all of that lifesteal, and even damage through it. if the enemy adc attacks someone else, then yes, he'll lifesteal himself back to full.
You're right on that one. that's one of his problems.
I completely get where you're coming from, actually, I might change junglers. I started with Shaco but I wanted a tank so I grabbed rammus for cheap. Any suggestions? You seem to know quite a bit there.
I like Rammus, and he certainly isn't horrible. If you like him, I'd say you can make him work for sure. I didn't mean he was just some weak champion. He has a charm to him, which is why I want to see him actually be, y'know, on par with his competition.
The meta tanks right now are Rek'Sai, Nunu and Sejuani. I'm a huge fan of Nautilus, Malphite and Amumu myself, and Nautilus is still the king of CC. I'd ask around, try a few and see what you like best. I'm not sure what you find fun in a tank, so I can't really tell you what you'd like.
Yes, I have tried Naut. I find tankier junglers tend to be much stronger early game and that's why I enjoy playing them. I'll have to try Malphite. Thank you for the tips!!!
He really needs help, biting sarcasm aside. I hope people don't take the title too seriously.
Help with what?
His cooldowns are extremely long, his clears are low, his clear sustain is poor, and to top it all off, he's very good at only a couple things.
That'd be fine, but what he's good at, he's still outclassed at. His peeling and initiating are both outclassed. All he has (that he isn't outclassed at) is damage soaking when his W is active; and that's significantly less useful than what other tanks bring to the table. Finally, he has a massive amount of counterplay to weaken the strengths he does have.
It's the League of Tanks in the jungle meta, and he's still struggling. Let that sink in.
The league of tanks in the jungle meta honestly hurts him more than helps. In S4, he was godly and terrifying, because his instant single target CC shut down assassins hard, and a quick W rendered him assassin proof entirely. His godly win rate for most of that season was a result of that meta countering. However, his true weaknesses start to show now that the meta has shifted. He just can't do what he did against all that peel. Hell just a
is enough to render him worthless, and he can't teamfight well. He's a more skirmishy, 2v2 type of tank, and the meta has shifted off of that. He does need buffs though, but not as much as you initially think.
Sincerely,
An S4 Rammus main
ok
I agree, though it's not his fault. The age of pure tanks is over; if you can't either a. also Deal considerable damage (
,
), or b. Offer absurd crowd control (
,
,), youre not worth the pick.
That was mildly amusing! I approve.
He's very useful if the enemy is very heavy on the AD, but I won't deny he could use a bit of love.
I used to be a Rammus main, but there is a reason I stopped in S5. He is just outclassed. Especially in damage to other tanks, no % no damage. He went from around 58% ish (best in game) in S4 to 50% in S5. He just simply is THE worst tank against other tanks. Outclassed might not be the right word, but current picks just stop him hard.
I love going fast on him.
That is all.
Enemy running Kog'Maw mid and any ADC in the bot lane with an AD top and Vi jungle? Pick Rammus.
I usually only last pick Rammus into heavy AD teams or heavily auto-attack reliant teams. It works, but it is a niche pick.
rammus is broken against AD comps.
He has like the third highest winrate in the game right now. He needs help on his clear speeds, but everything else is fine. His ganks are hard to pull off but extremely strong, and his teamfighting is great.
