Armor used to mean something against Marksmen and AD Assassins, now all it does is give you an extra half-second to live. The favoritism against defensive stats really irritates me, all the counter items to deflect a fed DPS's snowball keep getting weaker and weaker.

It all started when they began making their balance decisions around how flashy and exciting everything looks on streams and tournaments. They claim to hate passivity and lack of engagement, then they nerf all the defensive stats while buffing the damage dealers so much that the only effective counter to a fed enemy is to avoid them entirely. >_<

I concur, I've seen the decline when they started significantly funding their 'championships' back in season 2 & 3. It's disheartening and boring that an entire class of champions is frequently unviable.

ONLY 217? i invested 2 full items into it i shouldnt be one shot and i was lux

Most tanks can hit 300+ no problem. Armor pen/shred is abundant right now, so armor's not nearly as effective as it used to be. And he's technically not one-shotting you, Rengar needs a full combo. That's allowing his pen/shred to do it's job. If you wanna play with the kitty, bring a tank with lots of health and CC. Or your whole team.

why are you even building armor on Lux? other than Zhonya's there is no need for you to build any other armor items. You can have 400 armor for all i care but if you have no health to back up said armor then you might as well not have any armor.

your job was to stay in the back and snare things, building armor is not going to do anything for you since you are not building HP as a support unless you were trying tank Lux in which case you might as well have DC'd since that would have the same impact. Unless you are a tank support or are going full tank there is no excuse to have that much armor EVER on ANY champion

Assuming rengar has item 3036 to ignore some of malph's armor, I'll be super generous and say malph has 400 armor for this math. 3k * 5 = 15000 hp. Rengar would have to do a total of 15000 damage in one burst.

That's assassins in general . . . but here's a thought; which assassin has the lowest damage output, if all of them being compared are max level with no items/runes/masteries.

Hmm, I could see that, though people tend to play her two ways; the all in burst following up a spear with her cougar pounce and rend, which would be bursty; or sustained by just standing back tossing spears.

item 3157 , if your team hasn't dealt with him by then, then you were in a bad situation to begin with. Traveling alone is never a good idea, especially in a Rengar game.
