If i mute someone in-game i dont want to see them attacking me in post-game chat

koshkyra··89 votes·16,816 views

When i get into the end game i dont want to immediately leave.

I want to check damage graphs, report people, and interact with people who i didnt mute for being a toxic asshole during the course of the game.

What i dont want to do is see my adc who i muted for flaming me in game saying "never play support again", "whiny bitch", "f*cking uninstall", "1/4 so bad", "useless (insert supp name", etc.

Please i dont understand why i need to see this shit when i clearly muted the person for a reason.

SO TRUE. Especially if it's a feeder or troll. I don't want them in my next ranked game. I've had it happen a few times. So now I legit wait so long after a game, to make sure they don't end up in my team.

DeathBurst3 votes

That's a legitimate concern, but it's not easy to solve. If you implement something to not get matched with people you reported, how do you make sure that people don't abuse the report system just to game the match-making?

This if you block someone or report them you should never see them in another game ever.

Then ditch your new ass PC and have one like mine, a CPU that is barely dual core and 5gbs of ram, trust me, while you're waiting your client to load everything, everyone's gonna be in a new queue, maybe even champ select for that time. Im not even kidding. EDIT: Oh, and use HDD instead of SSD, you will have no more post-game flaming problems.

Dual core, 5 gbs of ram is not that bad, unless it's 1 ghz dual core, 5 gbs of ram ddr1

It wouldn't be bad if it was new Pentium Gxxxx, Pentium Dual core, Core2Duo or even Athlon II X2/Phenom II X2 . Mine is Athlon 64 x2 5200+ which is one of the first dual core processors, so it pretty much sucks. I virtually have no L2 cache memory (only 1mb). And ram is DDR2 @ 800Mhz

Fair enough, how about an improvement?

Because the CPU im looking to buy (Phenom II x4) is too expensive even tho it's old af. On American ebay those CPUs are like $10-$15 but on european ebays and local sites here they're 40-50 euros (like $50) which is a way too much, and as a student, i can't afford it, sadly.

Or make it better?

Votable Jester5 votes

A lot of people don't see the game as an awful experience. Yes it has much it can improve on, but calling it an awful experience just tells me they shouldn't bother playing anymore.

AjenLarod1 votes

I know there's MUCH to be improved, so, make it better.

Votable Jester1 votes

Oh wow, they should really change their plan to that! Make the game better; why hasn't anybody tried that?

Oh wait.

AjenLarod1 votes

Crapbaskets! You're right, that means less time and money to develope skins! What was I thinking, SKINS > GAMEPLAY all the way! How long until lootboxes arrive to this game?

Oh wait.

Votable Jester1 votes

Oh yeah they should totally have the skin team working on balancing the game, I'm sure they're experts on that.

Also they kinda do need to keep making skins to make money and continue to survive as a free to play game.

Looool. I play PvP games since I'm 14 y.o. I'm 29, now. Over those 15 years, "PvP games" were never about the trash-talking.

And the worst thing is, the problem in LoL isn't the trash talking between opponents, which isn't worse than in any other game. It's the flaming between team-mates. You don't win games by typing angry rants at your team, and even less by whining in /all chat.

And to top it off, if you think YOUR whining about a bad team-mate makes ME a pansy and you're a bad boy with a thick skin, you're totally delusional...

29... there is the problem.

You were 8-12 years old during the time period I'm talking about bub.

You didn't talk about a specific time period, you said it was "always" about that. And, well, it wasn't. So fine, delete your first post and pretend you said something else, you might fool a couple people, but you and I we both know the truth.

I didn't delete shit, the chat Nazis at Rito did.

From: Riot Games Hey The Bad Touch,

I've removed the following content for violating some of the Universal Rules. Insulting and provoking language does not facilitate good discussion. While you may disagree with the OP response, there is definitely a better way to word your comment, especially to avoid tangential responses.

Your removed content:

You are what makes League an awful experience.

No all the -candlestick- offended -bunny- snowflakes are.

** PvP games used to be 90% about the trash talking. Now all the pansy -bunny- -hippies- get their -almonds- off reporting people because they weren't raised right. "Sticks and stones" mother -candlestick-. Maybe if we still were still allowed to teach our children to -clockwise- -fudgebrownies- in the jaw there would be less snowflakes running around to begin with. [...]**

I'd like to emphasize that this is not a warning; however, please take some time to familiarize yourself with the Boards Universal Rules, as well as the guidelines for any sub-board you intend to post in before you do so.**

I most certainly did mention a time. That time was when PvP was all about the trash talking. If your time was after that then obviously you don't remember when I was talking about.

OK, technically true. But, if that time was more than 15 years and 4 generation of games ago, maybe you should learn to adapt to modern times, don't you think?

Yes because the timeless expression of "Sticks and stones may break my bones but words can never hurt me" is SUCH a terrible mentality to have. Do you need a blankie or a cry closet? Because if words offend you then you are incredibly small minded, like a mewling infant.

DeathBurst2 votes

A saying that used to comfort children against bullies is now used to justify being a bully. That's such a terrible mentality, yes.

"Words can never hurt me" was NEVER meant to let YOU say anything you want without consequences. It's clear in the saying that "you" are not the one saying the hurtful words.

The first amendment says that yes, actually I can say whatever I want.

DeathBurst1 votes

Replying to a philosophical and moral point with a legal argument is the perfect proof that you missed the point.

Also, first amendment says that the government can't censor you, not that Riot can't punish you.

TheZacStreetBoys2 votes

I'm going to make this simple. It has been scientifically proven that negative comments affect somebody's mindset, and constant harassment worsens these effects. In a game of LoL, being constantly told "you're shit," "uninstall," etc. WILL make you feel that way, even if just slightly. If you have a few bad games and hear it a lot, it only gets worse. Additionally, people with a history of depression (maybe not even due to words or people being assholes) are more psychologically vulnerable, and very little hate towards them can set them off whether they like it or not. People don't choose to be offended. And it's not because they're "weaker" than you.

Imagine this scenario: A kid is being horribly abused by his parents. Every day, they yell at him and tell him how worthless he is. If he tries to escape, they threaten him. Now, in MOST CASES of adult depression, childhood abuse is a factor, thus depression would come from this. Would you call them weak? Would you call them a mewling infant because their parents treated them like shit? I doubt it. And this is just like that on a MUCH SMALLER LEVEL. I'm not directly comparing assholes in League to abusive parents.

Here's an analogy: Abusive Parents are to Depression as League Assholes are to Annoyance/Tilt/Being Offended. In neither case can you call the person "weak," or "small-minded," as it is a scientific fact that their mindset will be affected.

Maybe instead of basing your argument around calling people pansies and accusing them of needing a safe space or cry closet, you should engage in logical, unbiased arguments supported by fact. That's my argument, and if you don't agree with me, that's ok, debate with people elsewhere. The LoL boards aren't for this kind of thing.

I heard reports don't take into account chat rooms, if that true, thats retarded. ive had SO MANY GAMES where someone enters the lobby , i pick their champ (In blind pick) and they start flaming me and being racist with you know what word. Not that i personally care but i feel like the system should look at lobby rooms.

Oh and gotta love the ones who add you after game to prove themselves and 1v1 you

DeathBurst2 votes

I heard reports don't take into account chat rooms, if that true...

It's not. The truth is that chat rooms logs don't appear in your Report Card when you are punished. But they are totally taken into account to decide if you deserve a punishment or not.

Baka Red1 votes

Except that IFS doesn't read pre/post game chat logs. See here for proof. The minimum you need to do to get someone punished for his behavior in the lobby is to create a support ticket, and you might even need to provide screenshots for the bad deed.

DeathBurst1 votes

I'm 99% sure that Deep Terror Nami was wrong. Tantram said multiple times that pre-/post-game chat are taken into account. Most recent occurrence being this one: https://boards.na.leagueoflegends.com/en/c/player-behavior-moderation/uyR21lrr-got-suspended-for-saying-the-word?comment=0005 but you can go further back in his history and see the other times.

Baka Red1 votes

Tantram does not say that IFS checks pre/post game chat logs here, but that post does confirm that the chat logs from pre/post game lobbies are saved and can at least be manually reviewed - so at least screenshots about that happening aren't mandatory for support cases. Tantram may have seen those when he checked the case manually (and thus this doesn't confirm that IFS uses pre/post game chat logs).

(Another matter is the time the chat logs are stored in the system, before they are purged to make room for more, but for most cases they are most likely stored for long enough time.)

DeathBurst1 votes

Those are not cases manually reviewed by Tantram. It's cases where the guy was punished by the IFS, came to complain on the Boards, and Tantram told them why they were being punished (because as I said in my very first post, pre-/post-game chat doesn't appear in report cards). There was no manual intervention from Tantram to get those guys punished, it's because they were punished that they came on the Boards in the first place.

Pre-/Post-game chat IS taken into account by the IFS.

Baka Red1 votes

Those matches were most likely punished because of their regular chat use instead. Tantram just noticed the pre/post game chat abuse when he did his smiting manually.

DeathBurst1 votes

Of course not. You could also dig into Tantram history for more clear examples, those are only the two most recent ones.

But let me ask you a question. Why is it so important to you that the IFS doesn't work well? Why do you want so hard to believe it ignores part of the chat?

Baka Red1 votes

It isn't "important" to me that IFS apparently does not analyze pre/post game chat. I just hate it that it doesn't do so. I would very much love it if it did. Unfortunately to me it seems that IFS doesn't do that. If someone manages to prove to me that it does use pre/post game chat logs in it's analysis, I would be overjoyed. Unfortunately nobody has been able to do so yet.

I have been following IFS matters quite closely for 'a while' already. I will keep doing so and maybe one day we get the proof that IFS does indeed do it's job properly.

DeathBurst1 votes

I've been showing you the evidence and you keep rejecting them. You, on the other hand, only quoted a post from a volunteer that's not even part of Riot proper and never interacted with the IFS directly. That sounds like a heavy case of confirmation bias, to me.

The IFS does take pre/post into account. You say you would love if it did, so why do you refuse to accept it?

DeathBurst1 votes

Here, yet another example: https://boards.na.leagueoflegends.com/en/c/player-behavior-moderation/HzvVO8zo-wrongful-ban-please-help?comment=001d

Convinced yet? The guy came here already banned, so no manual intervention. His in-game chat log is clean, so not banned for in-game chat either. And Tantram explicitly says he's banned for post-game chat. What more do you need to accept something you'd love?

Baka Red1 votes

Almost, but not quite. That could be manual review from support ticket - those are a thing that happen. However, I think those are rare thing and this is most likely (I hope) from automated parts of the system. I think I will add a question to Tantram there, maybe he will answer and give me a clear answer, so we all know if IFS analyzes pre/post game chat without manual work.
