Are tanks really in a bad spot anymore?

I remember leaving this game for a while and tanks were all the talk about how weak they are. They get melted by adcs blah blah blah. Is it still the case?

Tanks are decent right now. Tank items got stronger, which made everyone able to use tank items stronger, and so tank destroying items got stronger.

True tanks are better off than they were before, but they still haven't had direct changes to improve their play. With the way Riot is going through each class of champion I would bet tanks are somewhere on the list.

They are definitely playable right now, and can do very well, but the tank experience can lead to a lot of frustration depending on how coordinated of a team you have and how the damage/CC balance of your chosen tank is.

It's because of the new/old jungle item bloodrazer which does 3% maximum health. Besides that they're still good, cinderhulk got buffed.

Tryndamere Top lane with summoner 11 rushing item 1419 and item 3153 is a problem though for tanks top lane :/
