So msi top lane was basically cho vs ornn

Something tells me conqueror didnt help too much on whole making bruisers viable against tanks, i mean grasp beats it in lane AND outscales conqueror, no surprise tanks still smash bruisers.

Cho is an abomination and so is ornn, both really should be nerfed.

And maybe buff black cleaver, its been weak been a while.

Ornn's one of the worst champions in the game - he is back to being as bad as 39% win rate Ornn.

He is pretty much a guaranteed auto-loss once chosen.

45% win rate: http://na.op.gg/champion/ornn/statistics/top

Tanks are only particularly good right now in pro play, where playing without a team is literally forfeiting before it begins. Ornn is an alright enough tank, and does his job, but his job isn't carrying teams, which makes him weak for solo queue and results in the low win rate.

You can't really compare organized team comps like MSI to solo queue. Cho'Gath and Ornn are both pretty alright tanks, but since the release of Conquerer and Black Cleaver being buffed to cap out at 30% armor reduction again, rather than 24%, bruisers have been dominating solo queue as a way to carry your team. In organized play, though, and especially pro play, where the likelihood of your opponent making a mistake is low, not running a tank in your comp is literally just surrendering before the game begins. Bruisers can't beat out the raw defensive power of a dedicated tank, nor can they protect allies in much the same way. However, the champions who have been dominating the top lane META in solo queue, primarily Darius, get decently beefy while also dealing significant damage, allowing them to carry their team.

You know, maybe not picking a tank top SHOULDNT be an auto surrender in compétitive.

Maybe we should make it so tanks are replace-able in a team comp.

Not picking a tank is only an auto-surrender in competitive because you NEED the defense and crowd control that a tank offers when the enemy ADC isn't going to make any mistakes with their positioning that cost them their lives, that teamfight, and probably the game. Tanks are designed to crowd control enemies and soak up damage, but not deal much damage in return. Put those 2 main functions, soaking up damage and applying cc, on any other class to the amount that tanks have them, and that class will be completely broken. If they sacrifice damage for them, congratulations, you just made a tank! If they don't, they're gonna get nerfed very quickly, either in the damage or the defense capabilities.

Tanks ARE replaceable in solo queue because you can just play Darius, as an example, and be almost as beefy as a full tank while also dealing a lot of damage, but sacrificing the cc that a tank has, which is also a necessary feature in competitive team comps for the purpose of protecting your carry. As Darius in solo queue, you run at the enemy ADC, pull them, auto + W + q, ult, they die, and proceed to get penta, assuming the enemy team didn't focus a boatload of cc on you, which can only really be provided in a balanced way by a full tank. You could split up the 2 functions of a tank, picking a high-damage, high-defense top laner like Darius and a high-CC support, such as Thresh, to protect with, but then the enemy team can just camp the Darius, set him behind early, and all of a sudden, he's useless for the rest of the game.
