Thoughts on Blitzcrank VGU/Modernization?
Blitzcrank is an old champion, but that doesn't mean he's bad. He can be rather effective and I recall seeing him played in competitive games. But he's not the perfect champion. But how would he work if he got a modernization style VGU like
?
When I first started playing League, I mostly played mid lane with champions like Vel'Koz and Veigar. But Blitzcrank was a champion that stuck with me. He was great for a new player because he was simple. Not complicated at all, the hardest part about him at the time was landing a hook (And I'm going to be honest, I still am unable to do that). Although now I moved onto other supports and don't play Blitzcrank anymore, he's still an important champion to me. But I've always felt he could be more. So what if he got a VGU?
Unlike some other champions, Blitzcrank doesn't desperately need a VGU. Champions like Mordekaiser, Tryndamere, and Malphite likely need it more. But I felt that if Blitzcrank got a modernization, he could become a bit more interesting. They could make his in-game model a bit cleaner, and make his kit focus more on the idea of him being a protective robot instead of just "GRAB-PUNCH-PUNCH-PUNCH-GRAB-PUNCH-ULTIMATE". I'd love to see him become this special warden (defensive tank) that is able to start fights with his hook. Speaking of the hook though, I feel it takes too much out of Blitzcrank's power budget. It's rather fast and unlike other skillshot hooks like Nautilus' or Thresh's, the hook brings the enemy directly to you without you having to move at all. I feel that the hook could use some work so it doesn't make his other spells lackluster.
So enough rambling from me, I want to know how the community would feel if Blitzcrank got a modernization, say within a year or two. What do you think they should change, or not change? Should they keep his playstyle, or change it? Should they even do a VGU, or just a smaller rework like with Rek'Sai? I want to know.
