Restore Randiuns?

I am not sure if I spelt it right, but anyway, we all know the tank item Randiuns Omen and how a couple patches ago it lost one of its passives, that slow someones movement speed slightly if they hit you.

I don't remember an explanation occurring, but after it happened their is almost nothing a tank can do, or well anyone in the game really when they get kited, Sure they can grab or flash, but blowing a summoners spell off to get some ADC sounds bad. I mean nearly all ADC's (cept ashe) have a way of escaping or creating distance, and well. you can't do a thing about it.

I find in a lot of my games as Garen, Nautilus, or J4. I can't go for ADC's anymore. They have to really screw up positioning or be CC locked before you can get to them, So why did Randiuns lose this passive exactly? Not like -10% movement speed was overpowered (I think that was what it was)

Any thoughts? I would like to know I am just not seeing something, but their is no item atm, That helps against kiting.

It's taken me a while but I've finally gotten back to a point where I can fight kite heavy champs as Garen. I've noticed a definite increase in my ability to play well since the change to Randuins and with enough effort anyone can overcome it, but I do have a concern.

I've played Garen since season 1 (although I freely admit I was absolutely terrible back then) so I've had time to learn the ins and outs of being a low/medium mobility melee champ, but not everyone has that kind of time. I am worried that the difference between learning to effectively kite and learning to effectively chase without being kited is too great at this time. There is a huge barrier that newer players have to overcome in order to master the slower melee champs.

Something will change eventually, but if you are willing to put in the effort to learn you can still go for those slippery ADCs successfully. Sadly I can pretty much Garen-tee the change will not be to Randuins.

Hopefully an anti kiting item will come around, given riots new strategic focus with items and objections.

Righteous Glory is a new item that is supposed to fill this role. It's a great item if you don't play a manaless champ.

The basic problem with item 3143, or more generally any item that helps with sticking to targets, is that they have a "rich getting richer" effect. Randuin's was way better on Irelia than it ever was on Garen, because champions with gap closers get a bigger stickiness benefit from the slow than champions that can't do anything when they get are easily slowed in response.

Quite a few immobile champions need some help, but giving them items that mobile champions also have access to and use better just makes it worse.
