Let Me Do Your Job For You

In terms of balance, Riot is... Riot. Here's some feedback from a long-time player in what you can do to make a healthier game.

First of all, don't nerf Shaco. It's just dumb. And I know people are gonna want to point out that i'm a Shaco main because that's as far as their brain can analyze but think about it. We're nerfing a champion that can only succeed in killing someone fast enough that they don't get shielded or healed from the damage. Because if they get any heal or shields then Shaco is in the middle of a 1v2+ and just dies because it's a one-way trip. Players are incapable of analyzing the one-dimensional playstyle of a one-combo assassin. That's not on Shaco. That's on the players who don't even realize that it takes 1100g to eliminate him from the game entirely.

Speaking of Ninja Tabi, you really think -10 armor is gonna stop people from buying it every game? How about this: we stop it from being useful every game, at ALL points of the game? Here's what I mean: how about changing the passive from reducing auto-based damage by 10% to just 10. Flat. And if it becomes too low value (which will doubtedly become an issue because we all know Ninja Tabi does a LOT more than its worth) then you can lower Ninja Tabi's gold value by 100g in the next patch as well as Mercury Tread and increase Mercury Tread's MR from 25 to 30.

What does this do? You may ask. It's actually a huge change in the meta. Changing tabi to reduce flat damage means it won't be infinitely useful. It gets outscaled as an item and it promotes an early buy, otherwise, buying it would be pointless. But lowering it to 1000g total makes that early buy a lot more possible. Lowering Mercs to 1000g and increasing MR by 5 also is a way to help laners fight against early ganks by high-utility champions like Sejuani or Skarner. Given the current meta, this is the most optimal decision you could make without just nerfing a bunch of champions and acting like nerfs is the only possible way to balance the game. Granted, I do think buffing Rumble in accordance with these changes would be ideal as Mercury Treads can be a huge counter to him. Vlad is fine.

Kha'zix is also a funny champion that you seem to be ignoring. And you ARE ignoring him because his problem is just as easy to fix as anything else. Change his ulti from giving 40% MS at all ranks to 20%/30%/40%. There, he isn't immediately abusive by level 6 and rushing mobis.

Bramble Vest should have its grevious wound effect increased from 1s to 2.5s so that it actually matters somewhat. Of course, that means reducing "Thorns" from dealing 3 plus 10% to dealing 5 plus 5% damage. I also think Thornmail should only deal 10 plus 10% damage but I can understand lowering the gold amount by -50 total as a result.

I do have an idea in mind for Black Cleaver that i'm not as confident in as the rest. But I did some digging and I don't think the problem with it is that it doesn't do enough 'damage' or armor shred but I think getting the item doesn't necessarily grant the user, who I presume will be an immobile bruiser, a super effective way to chase down champions.

Here's what I propose: Change Black Cleaver's 'Rage' unique passive from "Dealing physical damage grants 20 movement speed for 2 seconds. Assists on Cleaved enemy champions or kills on any unit grant 60 movement speed for 2 seconds instead. This movement speed bonus is halved for Ranged role ranged champions" to "Dealing physical damage grants 3% bonus MS for every cleaved target(up to 15%). This movement speed bonus is halved for Ranged role ranged champions". I think this'll effectively grant the user a burst of movement that's not easily kiteable while still leaving room for the kiter to dash away and all that junk. And makes it more teamfight-oriented. Most importantly, I think it puts Gnar in a position where he isn't as safe in the event of a splitpush but it should still be a good item on him.

I also think that personally you should reduce Sterak's Gage total effectiveness without taking power away from it. Reducing the HP value from 450 to 250 and lowering the gold amount to 2900 would make champions like Camille or Jax slightly less abusive late-game.

I mean, there's probably more suggestions I can bring up if I put more time into it but these are the main changes I think will help improve the state of the game as a whole.

Riot, I do hope you take these suggestions to heart. Because, if not, I mean... The game is losing a substantial amount of players for a reason. I know you're not worried about the game dying. Truth is: we're years away from it dying. But if you genuinely care then please try to listen.

The problem with most bits of advice that players give is that it speaks from experience, not from an overhead view of every champion involved and potentially involved as a whole. The other problem is, with the kit and items a lot of champions are able to work with now'a days that are designed for escaping fights, it should be considered that not only are you taking away at least 5%, but you're risking a player at most getting a mere 3-6% boost in some cases. That is too negligible, and imho, entirely reduces the worth of building into it.

Also this is more of my own issue with the post, but the attitude's a bit much. What's the point of putting effort into a suggestion, if you come off as an arse? You're arguing your own non-defined experience as a player of whatever rankings you average, over people that have literal access to data to determine the cause and flow of this or that in the game. Not arguing against you making a suggestion, but belittling a company involving people you know nothing about is not a good way to get your foot in the door.
