Promotion series are still something that needs looked at

Requiring a 75%/60% winrate to climb tiers is a bit silly when with MMR, if you maintain a 51% winrate you're climbing.

I almost wonder how much toxicity is actually enabled by having arbitrary tiers that mean nothing compared to actual MMR.

Not to mention the system often intentionally places you in unevenly matched games that are not in your favor. Riot tried to slap a bandaid on the frustration of promo series by giving you a free win if you lose you series and manange to make it back in. But let's be honest, you'll get the free win and then proceed to lose the next how many games in a row.

Not only are promos frustrating as hell, the whole matchmaking system as a whole needs to be looked at. The way the system works discourages climbing as a whole and punishes you for going on win streaks.

75% and 66% winrate to be more exact. In between Divisions it is 75% (must win 3 out of 4 since you need to win 1 to get into the 2 out of 3) and between Tiers is 4 out of 6 (1 to get into 3 out of 5). If they are going to keep the little boost for failing promos I would rather get a loss aversion than a free win tbh since making your division promotions a best of 2 is honestly just as annoying since you are still going to get that uncarriable game taking one of those games. Instead of giving a free win I would honestly rather it turn into a win 2 out of 4 then a win 1 out of 2 that it is now.

Oh right, 66% winrate, I did it for the divisions and not the tiers. ._.

I just think series hold very little value to the system when its entirely possible to have a high MMR, but a low label/tier ranking. I haven't played many ranked games really ever, but when you're jumping two divisions while doing ranked, just seems a bit silly that that's something that needs to be done in the first place.

At some point my MMR will level out to align with the tier, but why do they require such a high winrate over a short period of time to dictate a tier ranking?
