Why Illaoi is an AD champion?

I am asking for curiosity. When I was looking at her first, looking at her abilities on the videos, I was pretty sure she would be an AP champion. Especially since it fits her as a priestess of a god. Then she was revealed on the PBE as being AD. She actually doesn't have any AP ratios at all and, speaking of which, Riot is starting to release lots of champions without any AP ratios. Are they unecessary now that Sheen lost its AP component?

Cause FK ap bruisers, maybe riot just decided to go down the ad Avenue because they'be always had trouble balancing ap fighters.

ad bruisers have better itemization and are much easier to balance
