What's up with Xerath?

Seems like this turret champion somehow got way overtuned, I simply can't win against a xerath

His damage & range too high, his cooldowns insanely low, why is he allowed to 1 shot an ADC or an immobile mage

He seems ridiculously easy to play, yet insanely hard to play against

He stalls games infinitely with his wave clear, INFINITE mana and range, he prevents teams from taking baron even if they won a teamfight

Just insanely unfun to play against, how to deal with him if you don't have 3-4 champs who can dive in your comp ?

Play the Champion yourself and learn the hit boxes and there ranges that is the only way to get better at matchups

Few things to note.

  1. He is literally all skill shot oriented. Invest in boots early, or play a champion who has some dashes if you have good reaction time.

  2. Try not to be predictable. Due to his skill shot heavy kit, he relys on either luck, or predicting the enemy movements to hit. If you take out predictability, you are left with luck.

  3. His stun lasts longer of it is hit from a distance. The closer you are, the shorter the stun... down to like a .5 sec stun rather than 2 sec at a distance.

I am diamond 3, not bronze, I know very well how to dodge him, I'm talking about something else, you make it sound like he's the most underpowered garbage champion in the game "JUST DODGE HIS SPEARS LUL!!!11"

Actually, I never said anything about "just dodge". I gave actual suggestions on how to dodge better (boots early), be less predictable (yes, people in higher ranks are very predictable. Reaction time is the main difference in this aspect between higher and lower ranks... and that does not always help enough), and explaining that Xerath is an Artillary mage... meaning close quarter fights are rough for him because he prefers to poke from a distance rather than be up close and personal.

A champion you could try and pick up is Diana. She has lots of burst, has shield to help with sustaining the poke, and she gets up close to Xerath quick enough to make the stun (if they hit it) near non existant.

If you are truely diamond 3 and didnt just buy the account, then you should be able to understand that these are actually good tips that most people do not think of when playing vs skill shot based champions. You also should be able to make use of these tips.

If you need a specific thing, then please.... explain the "something else" you are talking about... because i doubt you even know what you are talking about.

Oh boy look's like every mage that is skillshot reliant is hard to lane against nowdays... If u can't win against him then play fucking better and learn to dodge skillshots smh.

Xerath is in a fine place right now. All his attacks are slow skill shots, meaning that his entire kit is based on 50/50 reactions and predictions. I honestly have a lot of fun both playing against and as Xerath; You just end up trying to get into each other’s head and it’s a blast.

I see a lot of Xerath abusers commenting in this thread, no wonder. His popularity really skyrocketed lately, funny thing 2 years ago people didn't even know what Xerath was (when he was balanced) now all these diehard mains popping up :D classic

I like how you are putting those who disagree with your opinion as nothing more than Xerath bandwagon supporters/abusers.

I don’t even play ranked and I know that is a very short-sighted mindset for a D3 player.
