Don't nerf Zz'rot Portal
On the PBE, Zz'rot portal is being nerfed to 55 armor and magic resist. This item is not abusive, it merely pushes a lane, forcing someone to deal with it. Teams use this item strategically to create power plays. This item creates action where there might otherwise be none in competitive. Seriously, the only reason people fight anymore with such high death timers is if they can create a power play (for example with Zz'rot Portal and Banner of Command). The instant this item becomes used, Riot is nerfing it. The item is not broken. It's armor and MR are in line with Guardian Angel, as is its price. There is no argument that pushing a wave (which forces someone to destroy something) is worth more than a second life (which completely shuts down assassins in teamfights). If death timers were lowered, and people could afford to take risks, then Zz'rot would not be as prevalent. This is the underlying issue. There is no reason to nerf Zz'rot as a bandage fix when the underlying problem will just reemerge elsewhere. Please Riot, lower death timers a bit and see the effects before just nerfing Zz'rot Portal. Nobody enjoys the longer death timers, not people who play for fun, not people who play competitively, not people who watch pros play. I get that it's part of the effort to lower game times, but at what cost? There are other ways, such as making teamfights happen earlier. This could be done by increasing the amount of passive gold generation, and it would also help combat snowballing (passive exp generation would be great too, like in ARAM). This would make games faster, this would make more action happen sooner, and this would make everything feel loss like a stomp and more like a fair game.
More gold + exp = shorter laning phase = more teamfights = more objectives = shorter games less death timers = less risk = more action
At the very least, nerf Banner of Command as well and don't target the resistances on Zz'rot Portal. Remove the strong voidling if need be, so that it won't push as fast and gives more of a window to deal with it. If you insist on a bandage fix, at least do it right.
As a side note, don't just dismiss me because a lot of people complain about snowballing and death timers. Try to actually have a meaningful discussion. I know there's no point in asking, because there's always that one guy who's like: "Thank God Riot doesn't listen to all these noob players. They should be permabanned for having a different opinion than me. Git gud scrub".
