Can there at least be a semblance of balanced in unranked games?

I won't list a huge story, just few words, namely, names and ranks along a suggestion

Enemy team:

Jinx - D3 - 2 mil points Lulu - S2 Teemo - B1 Mordekaiser - G4 Rengar - S3

My team:

Syndra (me) - S2 Aatrox - G3 Yasuo - S4 Sejuani - B2 Janna - G4

I guess it's no wonder who won the game.

Can we just make it that if you can't party with them for ranked you can't do so for normals eithers (or with a better leeway but not as big as now) OR keep the "party with anyone" but unless players are max 1 rank difference (i.e. between S2-G2) between the highest and lowest in a party, the top X most played champs of the highest party member are locked and unable to be picked, X being based on the rank difference: 1 rank - 5 champs 2 ranks - 10 champs 2+ ranks - 10 + 2 per extra division In my game's case, Jinx would've lost access to her best 22 champs due to the high rank difference between her and Teemo.

Would locking out champs make the game fair? No, but it would make it fairer.

imagine you going into a normal game wanting to play your main but try a different fun build with your friends and then riot says https://i.kym-cdn.com/photos/images/original/001/483/348/bdd.jpg

im sure you thought your post through before you made it

Did you even read it?

If you que with friends of similar ranks, say you're the D3 Jinx and you're the highest ranked in your party, if none of your friends is bellow P2 you have no champs locked.

If you que with Bronze players like this Jinx did, you make the game way too unfair, so it would be only normal to have something to balance things out.

So you want to tell me that the game above was totally fair? Nothing unusual?

who cares about fairness in a normal game bruv go ranked if you want fairly balanced matchmaking

normal games are for playing with friends goofing around and learning champions nothing about it is about try harding and playing your heart out

Then go tell that to the Jinx.

Or to the Olaf I met few weeks ago, D2 guy, picked Olaf because "He can't risk losing it even if it's a normal".

The high plats and diamonds I met in these try hard it for some reason. I haven't met a single high Plat or Diamond that didn't played his main and played it like it's ranked and he must win.

Some apologized after saying they went so tryhard to end it ASAP because they knew it's not fair, others tried to prolong it so they can boost their stats, but there wasn't a single one who picked something he had no/low mastery on and play for fun.

Npw you've met me, I love to play Yuumi/Rakan in Normals too. And of course I still want to win, but I will go for flashy stuff, full AP Yuumi etc.

Playing to win is normal, that's the goal of the game, that's why I said I'm ok with losing, but losing when the enemy does "their best" to win and even flaunts it with a "not my fault you're against me, but I'm not gonna go easy" or even calling your team names and stuff when they win because of that skill disparity (had a 1 mil Yas main like a month ago, Diamond, got 2 1v5 pentas as the highest ranked member in my team was S2, I was S3 at the time and afterwards he started calling our team noobs and how we're not even worth his time). That's not cool, and sadly, I've only met 1 player who wasn't like that, a Kat streamer, D1, said the subs he's playing with asked him to do a Kat stomp and he's trying to end it ASAP, others, almost all acted on how big they are and how "much skilled they".

A Diamond WW told my friend who was new at the game at the time that if he can't beat him, he should just uninstall. Like, seriously? You are Diamond, play your best and then go telling new players that if they can't beat you they shouldn't even play the game?

the knowledge difference between you and that jinx is too big for you to understand if she is tryharding or not i understand your frustration that you are getting smashed by people way above your skill level but you have to understand that these people don't have to really try to beat you either

Ok, let me explain in a bit more detail.

The guy above said he still plays to win, which is normal, but he goes for flashy stuff, fun, etc, not the set in stone meta build.

Then you look at the Jinx, she went in to punish everything, kited, etc. Yes, she might not be try harding as she would in a ranked game, but she wasn't "meh, let's have fun while winning it" either, she wasn't doing anything "for fun", no silly dives, nothing like that, no "they are just S2 and G4, they can't kill me so I'll just do it", she "respected" our champs as if we would've kill her every mistake, and even her build was the standard, IE into RH into BT. That's what I ment by try hard.

If you do silly stuff just for fun knowing you can't lose it, play silly items, do rambo stuff just to see if you can against the opponents, etc, then sure, it's not try harding, but what she did, even tho it may not be the same as ranked try hard is still try harding it considering the skill disparity between her and us. There were times when she could 1v2 me and Janna because of that skill disparity, but she didn't even tried until Lulu was back.

Exactly, I don't troll, I still play my best and I am simply better than certain people, who will think I am sweatingly trying my heart out.

You have everything you need to kill, even a super fed, Jinx, lmao. If you can't pull it off with fucking Syndra - Sej - Aatrox - Yasuo to chain cc/burst her to death, you are just bad at your champions/the game.

IP Masquerena1 votes

Sej was at her 1st Sej game ever, 0 Mastery, ganked bot once, for the rest of the game, didn't even focused Jinx. I banned Shaco, which is Rengar's most played (he's almost an OTP) so I got focused by him out of spite.

As for champ mastery, no-one of us had more than 40k max on our champs, while their lowest was 100k, so yea....we were bad at our champs and heavily out ranked, Jinx's positioning was superb.

But hey, I didn't knew I have to play my best champs and tryhard in normals as if I'm in promos for Challenger.

Wait, I thought you mean unranked, as in your placement games. Why the fuck do you complain about losing in Normals, which have different MMR than SoloQ? Are you one of the peeps that cry about Flex too?

IP Masquerena1 votes

I mean, aren't normal games for fun and trying out new stuff?

Thing is, it's not the 1st time I get matched against stuff like this, happens once every 20 something games, sometimes even more common, I had it happen 3 games in a row.

I'm sorry if we would want some fun as well, or try to get a chest. If I want to get that chest I have available, I need to play a champ I don't have it on yet, and all my best champs already have one, so I need to play something new.

And no, I don't even play Flex, I see no point in it.

EDIT: It's not about losing, I'm ok with losing matches, but not ones like this when you have no chance to even do something because of the skill difference.
